I. Introduction
A. Attention Getter: In the beginning of the twentieth century, women were bombarded with the trend of restrictive clothing and waist-cinching corsets. They were expected to wear stiff clothing or they risked the chance of not being considered a true lady. This was the norm until the revolutionary Gabrielle Chanel made her name known in the world of fashion.
B. Motivation for Listening: Perhaps if it weren’t for her, then women would still be expected to wear clothing that one can barely breathe in, nevertheless perform any other normal activities.

E. Chanel’s Return to the Industry: Chanel decided that after being retired from her job as an elite fashion designer for fifteen years, she would make a return to the world of fashion. However, she had to prove herself by turning a white, bland dress into a masterpiece. And prove herself she did.
1. At this point, Chanel had been away from the fashion industry for 15 years but swiftly returned to it with hundreds of avant-garde ideas (Lagerfeld).
2. She knew that fashion was made to be outdated, but time was no match for her exquisite elegance and style. Chanel’s clothing line is unique in that its garments seem to be truly timeless, and yet, the House of Chanel gives the impression of being able to modernize anything.
F. Transition: This success can all be attributed to the one legendary woman who completely metamorphosed fashion, mademoiselle Coco Chanel.
III. Conclusion
A. Summary of Main Points: Mademoiselle Gabrielle Chanel completely revolutionized not only the fashion world, but also contributed greatly to the feminist movement. I’m sure that without her witty persona and respect for the feminine half of the human species, then women would not be where they are
