Coffin Ship Letter

Although I had to leave behind many of my possessions, and friends and family, I could potentially leave my life of poverty as well. Living in the coffin ship was a terrible experience. The ship was crowded and smelled bad. Living quarters were tight and congested, many people got sick . Just a couple of weeks in, people were already dying off and I was worried if I were to also be taken by sickness. The waves and storms tossed the ship back and forth so no one dared to go up on deck. It was very dirty inside and the stench of all the people stuffed inside the ship made it harder to breathe. Finally, after over a month, and after the health inspection, I was getting closer and closer to my new home.

Land

My land is slightly towards the eastern area. It is in the middle of the concessions, it is a flat, settlement lot which is very arable. However, there is no river going directly through my own plot of land, therefore I will have to borrow from a nearby lot. South and east of our land, there are Clergy Reserves so schooling wouldn’t be an issue. Luckily, I can have two roads going along the west and south borders of my lot which would make transporting goods and trading a lot more easy and accessible.

Also, I will look for people in the area who I can trade with. As I don’t have everything necessary to survive, I would need assistance from others through exchanges. Getting to know the people around me and establishing a relationship would help me greatly. Additionally, starting my job as a weaver is a necessary step to earn money for my

It was faster and deeper than I imagined. The pappin ferry that we took couldn't hold the number of people we had in our wagon train. It almost tipped over, but we still lost some stuff. Mary Ellen, Jasper, Mary, and I jumped into the fast moving current and saved as much as we could. In the end we couldn't save the coffee. That left us with bad water.…

    Coffin Text From Duat

Apart from the pyramid texts, the coffin texts from Duat reveal the contribution of religion shaping the Egyptian’s bureaucracy because they seem to represent a collection of funeral spells that were written on the coffins. The texts were reserved only for the royal family; however, they had elements that signified everyday desires such as (ADD THE ELEMENTS). The ordinary people who could pay for a coffin could access the funerary spells, barring the Pharaoh from having exclusive rights to life after death. The content of the coffin texts from Duat, unlike the pyramid texts that focused on the celestial realm, placed emphasis on the subterranean elements of life after death. The texts seemed to have given hope to everyone in the locality…

Day Two: Its day two which means that it is December 28, 1872. Today is my off day and good thing too because the sky is very gloomy and cold. In the morning all of us cleaned our bunks and straightened our clothes because no one likes messy rooms. I had been nominated to cook for our cabin today so as soon as I got in the kitchen I got started. I prepared my meal of salted pork, potatoes, and carrots with a lot of care. Since we were early on in our journey we had plenty of supplies available. The thought of being onboard for so long honestly scares me because I know there will be fights and sickness.…

The medieval empires of the West and the Byzantium shared a common history that can be traced back to Rome. They were hubs for the growth of culture and Christianity. The recipe box sized Reliquary was made from copper, enamel, and wood (Reliquary Label). When we got there we each had to fill out papers clearly stating our medical information but, of course, my parents had to sign too. Once everything had been signed we had to wait about thirty minutes for everyone else to get there. I was furious because we had to wear a stupid life jacket and I complained the whole time, saying stuff like I look stupid in this or I don’t wanna wear it. Finally after a while I had finally gotten over it and enjoyed the gorgeous scenery. After everyone had arrived there was almost over one hundred people! I thought it was going to be a group of about ten. After we went over the rules we had to board a bus to the river itself, which was about forty minutes or so. Once we had made it there we were all told to get into a raft and sit on the edges, but, of course my dad was in charge telling us all what to do. After, we had done a couple of rapids it was finally time for a swim break, right away I had fell out and scraped my knee and to make it even worse the water…

I boarded the boat thinking it wouldn’t be that bad. I was wrong. I stayed in the steerage for months. The steerage is the below deck part of the boat where the steering mechanisms are. It was disgusting, dark and cramped. Although we were under such conditions, I still managed to make a few friends. The sad part is I watched many of them get sick and eventually die. This one boy in particular fell seriously ill practically over night. He seemed to be in excruciating pain. I was lucky I didn’t come down with the same sickness.…
