Cognitive Neuroscientist
My most desired career is to become a cognitive neuroscientist. Every since i was younger i’ve always known i wanted happiness and peace surrounding me and everyone i’ve cared about. I also know in this day in age it is very COMPLICATED to keep sane with everything going on in the world. It is INEVITABLE that as human beings some days will be harder than others, but learning why people have these imbalances more than often fascinates me and keeps me interested and driven to go into this field. Although i know the journey to get to this final career will be tough, this would be the IDEAL career path for me.
I have always been fascinated with mental health and behavior in humans. It’s always been an interest as to why people act the way they

My career profession is to become a speech pathologist. This career is broad because there are so many things that we can specialize in and there are many choices of settings that we can choose to work in. One of those settings is to work in the hospital. When a speech pathologist works in a hospital setting, he/she is going to be communicating with the doctor regarding their patient so having knowledge about the human body externally and internally is extremely important. This career choice relates to brain- related disorders because if a patient has a serious brain disorder such as a stroke, a speech pathologist is going to be needed. The stroke could potentially leave one side of the patient’s face paralyzed so the speech pathologist would…

I like how I would be able to either study the brain or help patients who are dealing with mental health issues. I would also be able to run my own studies on the brain and I would love to be able to do that. Somethings that I could see myself disliking about this career and major choice would be having to talk with people who are going through hard times. It would be hard not to let myself get upset with patients, or even get extremely upset when I am not able to help someone. Another thing that I would not find ideal is that the income for a psychologist is around 60,000. This is a great income, but it is not so great when I would have to attend graduate school to become a psychologist. There would be a lot of schooling involved for not a lot of monetary…

In Psychology there are so many different careers that have gained my interest because I love learning how people function, behave, and how the brain works. The first career that truly gained my full interest is Neuropsychologist. Neuropsychologists are the ones that explore not only the brain system but they also explore behavior and the relationship between the two. This is something that interests me more than I can put into words. One of the reasons I have so much interest in this type of career is because I myself have fetal alcohol syndrome, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder as well as learning disorder. Being able to study the cognitive functions of the brain such as attention, language and memory I believe will eventually help me to understand more of my disabilities and how to work past them. A Neuropsychologist is also able to evaluate people who have various types of nervous system disorders. They work closely with doctors including neurologists. Illnesses, injuries, and diseases of the brain and nervous system can affect the way a person feels, thinks, and behaves and some of the symptoms may call for a neuropsychologist. Those symptoms are memory difficulties, mood disturbances, learning difficulties as…

The article “Are You Deciding On Purpose” about the interview of author, speaker, and counselor Richard Leider really made me think about my life and what I want to do with myself. Leider brings up many great points in the interview and it was an eye opener for me after I finished reading the article. The first thing he mentions in the interview is how people are intimidated by all the choices we have now as career options. Nowadays, there are so many career paths to choose from that it overwhelms people and the decisions that they make. I think this is true for everyone and especially me. I thought about this for a while and I too do not have any idea what I want to do in my life. I have changed my mind many times about what I wanted to do as a career and I always thought about the money. After I finished reading the article, I realized that picking a career path is not all about the money. It’s about whether you enjoy what you are doing because you spend 60% of your entire life working. If I spent 60% of my entire life just working to pay the bills, I would be miserable by the time I’m retired because there wasn’t any satisfaction or fulfillment for me. I still don’t have any clue on what I want to do with my life but reading this article really changed my mind on a lot of things.…

The career field that I am interested in pursuing is clinical psychology. There are many reasons why I want to follow this career, but none of them are storied really. The actual reason I want to become a clinical psychologist is within my own mind, and my own life story; no one event will tell why I am so interested. Ever since I was young, I loved to know why and what makes things work, everyone knows that about me in my family. When I was little and my parents bought me toys, I would take apart all of the pieces and put them in a box, which I labeled ‘resources’. And ever since I was young, no one was there for me, and no one gave me the attention I needed, and as a result I grew into an independent mind, and I grew up trying to understand how the world works. I decided what better project is there, than trying to figure out what makes us humans work, and why life has been so difficult for me, and why no one was there for me. It just so happens that psychology brings all of these elements I have stored in my head, and brings them together in a proactive. I want to give people the chance I never had, that is my goal in life, and that’s why I want to help people who don’t have anyone there. I already know briefly about clinical psychology before researching it, but I really haven’t really ever taken the time to make a detailed look into it. Basically, I want to learn anything and everything about this career field that there is to know. I also want to know things from the inside, and what this career is really like, and not just a front. That’s probably my curious nature playing again, but I’m sure it will only help me to learn much more about this career.…
