Abstract
3 different cognitive * Social cognitive * Assimilation * Information processing
There were three cognitive theries that was expressed in the reading example, Social cognitive theory, Assimilation theory and Information processing theory.
Social cognitive theory (SCT) refers to a psychological model of behavior that emerged primarily from the work of Albert Bandura (1977; 1986). Initially developed with an emphasis on the acquisition of social behaviors, SCT continues to emphasize that learning occurs in a social context and that much of what is learned is gained through observation. http://www.education.com/reference/article/social-cognitive-theory/
Assimilation is a term referring to another part of the adaptation process initially proposed by Jean Piaget. Through assimilation, we take in new information or experiences and incorporate them into our existing ideas. The process is somewhat subjective, because we tend to modify experience or information somewhat to fit in with our preexisting beliefs. http://psychology.about.com/od/aindex/g/assimilation.htm Information processing model, a theoretical Framework of how humans think, reason, and learn, views human cognitive functioning analogous o operation of a computer. http://www.eric.ed.gov/ERICWebPortal/search/detailmini.jsp?_nfpb=true&_&ERICExtSearch_SearchValue_0=ED293792&ERICExtSearch_SearchType_0=no&accno=ED293792
The first reading Mr. Kermit decided he wanted to play a keyboard and this will be something new for him. He decided to what I called trial and error by familiarizing himself the keyboard. He would play with the keys. Instead of playing all the keys together he would plunk Key by key of certain cords of a song he wants to learn. While he does this the information processing can either help him to learn different ways to grasp playing the keyboard
