Cohabitation In The United States
An estimate of 70% of couples living in the U.S. Are currently cohabiting. I will be talking about the benefits and disadvantages of cohabiting before getting married. I understand that there are many different thoughts or people that don't support this idea. Many believe that you should be marry to the person but it's the 20th century a lot of the old traditions are really not followed as much. For example the marriage should be between a man and woman, the cohabitation and many other ones. My opinion is that we should just let them cohabitate to become responsible and learn by themselves.

Meg Jay compared the cohabitation to a credit card when your signing up for it with a 0% interest and after a while it goes up and later after you cant keep up with the payments you feel stuck, and that's how it feels with the cohabitation. Today many people believe that if you end up living with the person you love that nothing will come out good that you would just be wasting your time. Another disadvantage of cohabiting would be if it doesn't work out then one person would up end losing everything. “The best time to work on someone’s marriage is before he or she has one” (Meg Jay).

Many of the researches shows that most of the cohabitation will end up moving out but the convenient thing would be that you wouldn't have to go through court or losing so much money. Yes it'll be difficult to move out but we all have to learn. People shouldn't be judging the couples that move in with each other it's a decision they chose.
