I grew up during the generation defined as Generation Y or also known as the Millennials. This was the era span that started from the early 1980s to the early 2000s. An author by the name of Neil Howe came up with a theory. A theory that proclaimed that people who were brought up during this generation would become civic-minded with a strong sense of community impact on both global and local.
The most important factor that influenced this generation without a doubt is technology. The bridge gap that was created by technology that separated the previous generation from this one was massive. People from the previous era didn’t grow up with computers, the internet, or phones. Means of communication has improved vastly; instead of driving miles away from one place to another just to simply greet one another has been swapped to the instant messaging that requires merely a few finger strokes.
