Cohort Paper

I don’t feel comfortable at all when I touch the topic about how the world came to be and such. I consider myself an agnostic, life and its origin is a complete mystery to me. I’m not so sure what I to believe in or what to believe. All I know is that I want to live out my life by being happy and kind to others. I don’t want to hold any regrets and I won’t let anyone tell me what I can or can’t do. If you’re living at this very moment breathing and reading this, you should consider yourself incredibly lucky to enjoy the gift of life. I think Science has the answer to life. I derived my morals from my parents. They’re my beacon of light that guides me through life. They raised me and I became the man I am today because of them. They influenced my thoughts, feelings, and how I perceive the world for what it is. I think this goes the same for most growing up. Their surroundings and environment can impact this as well.
I grew up during the generation defined as Generation Y or also known as the Millennials. This was the era span that started from the early 1980s to the early 2000s. An author by the name of Neil Howe came up with a theory. A theory that proclaimed that people who were brought up during this generation would become civic-minded with a strong sense of community impact on both global and local.
The most important factor that influenced this generation without a doubt is technology. The bridge gap that was created by technology that separated the previous generation from this one was massive. People from the previous era didn’t grow up with computers, the internet, or phones. Means of communication has improved vastly; instead of driving miles away from one place to another just to simply greet one another has been swapped to the instant messaging that requires merely a few finger strokes.
