Colgate's Financial Performance Analysis
INTRODUCTION

Colgate-Palmolive serves global customers with products in five major categories: oral care, personal care, household surface care, fabric care, and pet nutrition (Colgate Palmolive n.d).

The Colgate-Palmolive Company was founded in 1806. Colgate-Palmolive markets its products in over 200 countries and territories worldwide. Colgate-Palmolive is a $15 billion global company serving 6 billion people around the world (Colgate Palmolive n.d).
Colgate People, working around the world, share a commitment to their three core corporate values: Caring, Global Teamwork and Continuous Improvement. These values are reflected not only in the quality of their products and the reputation of the Company, but also in their dedication to serving the communities where they do business (Colgate Palmolive home page).
As a leading consumer products company they are also deeply committed to advancing technology which can address changing consumer needs throughout the world. In fact, their goal is to use their technology to create products that will continue to improve the quality of life for the consumers wherever they live (Colgate Palmolive home page).

I. FINANCIAL STATEMENT ANALYSIS

i. Income statement:
The income statement presents information on the financial results of a company 's business activities over a period of time. The income statement communicates how much revenue the company generated during a period and what cost it incurred in connection with generating that revenue.
