Colleen Biszewski Biography
My name is Grace Arvesen and I am currently a sophomore at Marist High School. When I think of great teachers, although I’ve had many, one comes to mind right away. Her name is Colleen Biszewski and was my 7th and 8th grade math and science teacher at Queen of Martyrs School. Not only did Mrs. Biszewski prepare us academically, but she helped us practice good Christian values. In addition, she was accessible for all students, treating everyone with fairness. In terms of academics, Ms. Biszewski pushed us to challenge ourselves. She always had the next step in mind. For example, she made sure we were well prepared for high school and provided us with all the tools necessary to get there. In math, we were only two chapters behind one of the area high school math courses. She incorporated the new Common Core curriculum and made sure, although really confusing and different from what we knew and how we were taught previously, we understood the concepts. When I got to Marist, Algebra was pretty easy for me because she did such a great job getting me ready. In Science, she made learning fun. She spent countless hours preparing lab materials (and I’m sure spent a lot of her own money) before school and on her breaks to be sure we were able to have as many hands-on-experiences as possible. Until seventh grade, Science was my least favorite …show more content…
Biszewski never says a bad word about her students. If there was an issue, she would work it out. She heard all sides and showed fairness to all involved. No matter what a student of hers did, she always had their back and would never say a negative word. We were always her students. She attended our sporting events, fundraisers, and even worked the beer tent at our carnivals. She got to know our families and we knew all about hers. Mrs. Biszewski’s dedication to us for so many years, her love for her students, and her ability to make learning fun made her my favorite teacher and one I will always

In my last 15 years of school I’ve had many good teachers as well as bad teachers, but none of them compare to my football coach/computer teacher Mr. Pasch. Mr. Pasch not only taught me a lot about computers and football, but also much more about life. Mr. Pasch taught me that quitters never win, that when you quit the first time it will be easier to quit again and for the rest of your life you will always quit when it gets hard. Mr. Pasch installed in me his discipline, respect and motivation.…

By far, one of the best teachers I have ever had in all of my years of school, has been my eighth grade English teacher, Mrs. Dunlap. Before I had her class, I enjoyed English, and I enjoyed reading, but I still had struggles with it, and I was not that passionate about it. All of that changed, however, when Mrs. Dunlap was my English teacher. She was someone who truly cared about the subject that they taught- She was invested in every single piece of literature that she taught us, she explained grammar in a way that made it fun (For me, at least), and she was attentive to the learning needs of each and every student.…
