This being said, I have matured since and that lack of motivation is now at an all time high. I want to make my family proud, I want to be a good role model for my younger brothers, but most importantly I want to show myself that I can achieve anything no matter the circumstances. I now run my own successful sneaker reselling business on Ebay that has been active for about four months. This business is all about risk, mainly investing in a pair of shoes and not knowing if they are in high demand. Through my knowledge I have been very successful, in those four months I have made upwards of three thousand dollars; and this is just my side job. Alongside with this business venture, I am also working on established my own patent. Going to college is a very essential step in my life. I’ve always said that education is very important. I have to confess, that KVCC is not my dream college, because it is not a 4 year college. I do want to get my bachelor degree to do so I need to transfer to any university, if my economic resources help me into this process I might attend to Western Michigan University (my college dream). When I look back at my High School experience senior year was astounding, mainly due to my distinctive institution. I had the opportunity to partake on the football team, track & field team and was a honor student. Another benefit from my alma mater was the diversity of the institution and large number of students (2000 students). In my opinion Wilson Senior High School was the best DC Public School with high test scores and extracurricular activities for everyone.…

My life started out like the beginning of a perfect childhood. Both of my parents had steady, well-paying government jobs, we had moved into a new home and even bought a puppy. All was harmonious, until my parents decided we would have a better life in Canada. Leaving behind everything and everyone we knew was probably one of the hardest things my parents ever did for my brother and me. Struggling to fit in and assimilate was least of our problems, trying to make a decent income became a priority. My parents, who were well educated and accomplished, were compelled to settle for multiple meager jobs like a cashier at a fast food restaurant or a security guard at an apartment building. They held as many jobs as they could, working…

Hi, I’m Suzzana, I think you know that by now. I’m currently attending Camden County College. I am transferring because as you might know, most community colleges are two year schools. Community College has been great for me. I was never achievement orientated when I was in grade school. I was enrolled in an alternative school since the 8th grade. I was behind in my academics, but I would like to say I compensate in life experience. When I was younger around the age of 9 I was bullied a lot. I was chubby and I increasingly gained weight at that time. My influx of weight was the baggage of my emotions and my families struggles. My parents divorced when I was 10, my mom was escorted out by police. I only had my dad for a year. Then, I had missed…

From a young age we’re asked what we want to be when we grow up, never how we expect to become when we grow up. I was well aware of what I wanted to become, but not sure how to get there until I started high school when my counselor explained to me the importance of having a full portfolio with a wide range of extracurricular activities. Then it became clear to me, I needed extracurricular activities to become who I wished to be. Throughout my high school career I’ve participated in several extracurricular actives such as math club, soccer and UIL One Act. In the future, I want to participate in these activities or anything similar to those I participated in high school.…

Ever since the beginning it has been a rollercoaster. My parents divorced when I was little. It was tough to balance two separate relationships at a young age. It still is. Not long after, My step-parents came into the picture. Although at first I was wary of them, I came to love them. Late my junior high year, My dad lost his job and moved away. In addition to four advanced placement classes that I wasn’t ready for, my grades slipped. Him moving away caused a lot of emotional hurt and stress and began affecting my grades negatively my early high school years. In summer of 2016, I moved to a different school. This was my turning point, I wasn’t going to let it hurt my grades. I was back on my feet and ready to work. I want to go to college…

I have worked very hard in my high school to become an engaged student that preserves with hard work and dedication. I have achieved this in many different ways but one of my favorites has to be becoming president of a student club called Youth Action Network. Through this club I have been able to become closer to my community and have been given multiple opportunities to help the Tyrone community. With this experience being provided through my high school I might not have met some of the great people of Tyrone that I know today. This club truly gave me the chance to reach out and help others and bring us all closer together through a Safe-Trick-or-Treat night a 4-D movie night as well as many other events. Youth Action Network also taught me valuable skills such as, public speaking and leadership.…

Most people might say that the first day of high school is a huge crossing, or maybe the one in college. However for me it wasn't a physical crossing that has had the most impact on me, it was more of a mental jump for me with several experiences leading to a realization. I wouldn't say I’ve had a hard life because I have no right to say something like that. However when I became a junior I came into the year a little low I had seen people doing unspeakable things to others. I mean just look at the news and you might see what kind of place we've made. This is the first experience that made me hate how things are. Second I had an accident during a football game which required that I have surgery on my knee. This made me realize…
