College Admissions Essay: I Am Thankful For Me
I Am Thankful For....
Out of all the things I own, I am most thankful of the things that made me who I am now. Last Thanksgiving, I lost my chance to give thanks to a special person of my life, and so I don’t want to loose my chance of giving thanks ever again. I appreciate all that happened from the start of my life till now. I am thankful of being born, thankful for being loved, thankful for being able to write this essay.... But out of all these things I’m thankful of, there are some that I think build my personality the most. Without these, I would not be who I am now. I’m glad of being who I am, and being able to appreciate being who I truely am. There are many others who cannot appreciate themselves and others. Luckily I’m not one of them, therefore, I am here to give thanks. This Thanksgiving, I am thankful for being alive and healthy, for my

I am graceful that I am able to be sitting in front of my desk, in my cozy room, writing this essay and giving thanks. I am only able to do so because I am alive and healthy. If I’m not alive and healthy, I wouldn’t be able to go to school to learn or know any of the wonderful people that I know now. Without being alive, all I have now would be nothing. In my opinion, there are two thing that we couldn’t buy in this world, and they are love and health. No matter how rich one is, he or she cannot buy health. Therefore even if I own everything in the world, I would not be able to enjoy it if I am not alive and healthy. There are many others on Earth that are not enjoying what I am enjoying now, maybe because they’re poor and couldn’t afford to pay for their treatment, maybe because they have all the money in the world but couldn’t buy the cure for cancer. So remember health always comes first, because without it, we are

The Lord is a very generous and loving God. We, as followers and believers of Christ, should be thankful for everything He does. Many people in the world are not thankful for all the things the Lord does for them. They tend to complain about their life and worry about what they do not have rather than think about all the things they are privileged to have. People worry too much about who has the best phone, or car, or house, etc. and they do not focus on what is really important, which is their relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ. It is very easy to think of all the things we do not have and be unthankful. We can be jealous and covetous. But the hard thing to do is to remember to thank God for everything He has provided for us and for the wonderful life that He has given us.…

I always knew that I was gifted, but throughout my life, I took it for granted. Over a year ago I would have never considered the possibility of applying to an honorary university, not to of one. Three years ago, I just wanted to get a higher education. kept modified during my sophomore year of high school. I was delighted to have registered for Mrs. Shrull's visual art class. The first time I saw this inspiring and compassionate individual, as she walked into the classroom with a smile on her face and said: “Each and every one of you has a gift, you may not know it yet but, that should not stop you from reaching your full potential as an artist.” I knew from there on that I made the right decision.…

It is often in tenebrous night skies that we so lucidly glimpse the brightest stars. Having the opportunity to be a dazzling star in the pitch-black orphanage of SOS children’s village, was a modest, euphoric and memorable experience. For as a candle, I lose nothing by lighting other candles but only increase the light circles of hope. Raised up in an Indian household that values generosity to the underprivileged, I grew up with a burning desire to sympathize with others. At a young age, I would donate my old text books and clothes to the orphanage, but I wanted to contribute so much more. The Arts have called my name for as long as I can remember. As a child, I dabbled in any intensively creative and performative thing that was in the immediate vicinity. I would go around telling all my peers that when I grew up, I was going to have any one of a number of extravagant careers: I would promise to become a famous actress on Monday, declare myself a world-class musician on Wednesday and swear to grow to be a best-selling novelist by Friday. The Arts, and all they encompassed, were my first love. It only seemed natural to me, like eating or blinking, that my life should be dedicated to the very thing that made me the happiest. I finally took my ambitions to heart my first year of high school, where I eagerly sought out beginning…

Though I am sure of my identity, who I am and what I wish to accomplish now, it definitely was not something that came quickly. With just about everything I tried, I never quite found that deep passion for anything. I didn’t realize yet that I’d dismissed a significant part of myself a long time ago that was crucial to figuring out what I wanted to do with my life.…

I come from a family of six with only one parent who works as a painter. His income is just enough to pay for our food, bills, rent, and personal needs. Hence, I am aware that my parents won’t have enough to pay for my tuition or any expenses in college. Considering attending Houston Baptist University, a private college, I know it will be very expensive. For this reason I think about and stress over about how I will cover payments for college repeatedly.
