I had a really terrible memory when I was young, which was about a car accident. In the summer of 1995, I was 7 years old at that time,I was playing with my friends in the garden which was near my house. Suddenly, a friend of mine started fighting with a big guy. I didn’t know what happen, I was too young and so scared, the only thing I thought was to find his parents to go for help. So a girl and I decided to run to his home. The little girl was in front of me when we were crossing the road, and we didn’t realize a car was coming. The driver saw the girl first, so he turned right to avoid hitting her, but he didn’t know that there was another child coming out.…

One thing people have always told me is that I remind them of the person Randall Cobb from the book game changers. He has one of the most creative and unique personalities. He is passionate for the game of basketball by working hard on his time. Randall is also talented in the subjects math and science by pushing himself to make good grades. He also thrives to help people even if it's with school work, personal problems, or on the basketball court. All in all he was almost exact the same person as I am he likes basketball, he helps others, and he does well in school.…
High-school is a very important part of students lives. How one does during high-school will greatly affect their future and which college they go to. Getting into college you want can be very hard. I want to attend the University of Southern California (USC), although their undergraduate admissions are very competitive. Approximately 20% of the people who apply get accepted.…
I am very intelligent and can do math problems in my head a lot faster than everyone else. Likewise, I am a very talented writer and I have a diverse vocabulary. I used to get honor roll all the time, until I got to high school, now I get Bs and Cs. I like to play all the sports in the book. The sport I am best at is basketball.…
Is college worth it? Well, in my opinion, college for me is not even a goal, but a dream in my eyes. The advantages of a college degree in the job market today are pretty much priceless. I can go to college and look forward to the endless possibilities of my future. According to Lucie Lapovsky an economist for strategic financial issues, over 62% of high school graduates can’t afford college. Even though college could be expensive, I think happiness overcomes price. After graduating, I can focus on a certain direction and change career paths when needed. A college degree can also get me educated and prepared for the career path I will choose in the future. Even though my family isn’t rich, I can afford college by applying for financial aid…
My life started out like the beginning of a perfect childhood. Both of my parents had steady, well-paying government jobs, we had moved into a new home and even bought a puppy. All was harmonious, until my parents decided we would have a better life in Canada. Leaving behind everything and everyone we knew was probably one of the hardest things my parents ever did for my brother and me. Struggling to fit in and assimilate was least of our problems, trying to make a decent income became a priority. My parents, who were well educated and accomplished, were compelled to settle for multiple meager jobs like a cashier at a fast food restaurant or a security guard at an apartment building. They held as many jobs as they could, working…
Felicia Lemos Mrs. Radford Scholarship Essay. Starting high school can be very unpredictable, and most of all in sports. When becoming a freshman, there are many differences coming from middle school sports to high school sports. In eighth grade you are a leader. Freshman year you're the underdog, and the seniors know they are the best because they are more experienced and have the most talent. Being one of the youngest pushed me to work harder than ever before. My journey of track showed me that being an underdog does not affect your skill in sports. I worked so hard to reach my goals, and with my perseverance I became one of the fastest people on the track team. The first day of track practice i remember vividly. My coach; Mr. Watson, was…
But I will take the time to highlight my three best traits i have to offer the leadership. First off i work hard, I tend to push myself to my limits and i benefit from it, I have shown this in my running as well as a majority of my schoolwork. This work effick i have will make me a good person for the rookies to look up to and learn from. The second trait that sets me apart is that i have become open-minded to other options. Yes, i am still a little stubborn but during this past year i have been able to listen to other options and even consider them to improve my ideas or even allow my ideas to be incoroerated. The last trait that will set me apart from the other applicants in my section is that i have the experiance they lack. I have been a captain in cross country and track since my sophmore year, I love my section most days but lets be real some days we can be difficult people to reason with, and this is where my experiance will help. My proir leadership experiance has allowed me to learn how to lead effectivally as well as recognize ineffective ways. I also view myself as being a fairly good marcher, and a marcher who is eager to pass my experiance to the next generation of marchers before i graduate. I hope that based on what i have told you about myself you can see that i do belong on your leadership…
I decided to go back to school because I have always wanted to complete my college degree. I am at a time in my life where I am not focused on education for everyone else in my family. I have regretted not completing my degree for years. I had to put my education on hold while I worked to pay my children's way through college and my husbands way through law school which was all at the same time. The end result of those four years was worth the hard work! This is my time now. Having this degree will help me have a second career if I choose to do so. My ultimate goal with earning this degree will be that I will know that I have career options and that I will finally have completed what I started years…
My most prized possession is my mental stability and ethical background that I have acquired from my southern upbringing. Growing up in a rural community in the south and being reared by elderly parents allowed my seeds of character and respect to be nurtured by an entire village of people who saw my potential and wanted to see me succeed and thus pushed and prayed for my wisdom, knowledge, and understanding. As a child, series of unique experiences of being able to develop intimate and loving relationships with almost everyone in my community made me appreciate the influence of everyone on my life. It was not long before I realized that no matter how old or young, rich or poor, or educated a person was, everyone contributed to humanity’s niche…
I believe in opportunity. The definition of opportunity is something that you want to do, have the chance to do, or the possibility·of achieving something. When I was younger, I lived in a heavily populated town: Laredo, Texas. At the time, I was an eighth grader trying to make my mom proud by getting good grades in my classes. Seeing my mom happy was the greatest feeling in the world. My father, on the other hand, started to disappear on us. I found out that my dad had a drug problem, and my mom was filing for a divorce. I did not want my mom getting a divorce, but I knew she would be happier. My parents splitting up killed me, but it was best for my mother and me. Thinking about the divorce now, it was probably the best thing that has ever happened to me, because it offered me one thing: opportunity.…
I am not close to being athletic. I am not the highest achieving person academically in my graduating class. However, I have a big mouth that delivers clever punch lines and quality jokes. I have a large head that I choose to use for laughter instead of obsessing over good grades. Instead of trying out for the football team, I practice my execution of presenting a jovial project or the smoothness of my small talk and conversation flow. Because I do not focus on academic or athletic pursuits, I choose to hone in on the social realm. This is what defines me.…
Not giving up is sometimes the hardest. If you are searching for a reason to not give up, you're still on the right path. I can't promise you comprehension or that everything will be like before. I only can promise light, answers and a path to follow.…
I was raised with the beliefs that there is an importance of having security in all aspects of life, whether that is financial, physical, or emotional. These were, and still are, the ultimate objectives I have for myself and every action I take and have taken has been formed around this sentiment. My parents taught me that “dreams are the touchstones of our character” and that it is important to dream big while remaining clear on goals and realistic with decisions. On the path to deciding my future, their advice remains with me and assists in establishing myself in the goals that I have set.…
