College Admissions Essay: My Path To Success

I can’t remember a time in my life when I wasn’t completely and utterly fascinated by fashion. Fashion is academic, artistic, business oriented. I was drawn to Syracuse University because of the diversity. I’m looking for a school where I can have the freedom to do as much as I want to. I value being a well rounded person. At Syracuse, I’d be able to continue to be this person. I’m looking for a school that’ll cater to my interests, but also fulfill my academic and social desires. I have a natural curiosity, which I feel is one of my best qualities. However, in high school, it is hard to pursue the things I’m genuinely curious about, because of time and lack of opportunities--. I see college as that time to explore. I’ve always been extremely
interested in the arts especially the fashion industry. At Syracuse, the Fashion Design program would allow me to visualize my future in the best way and finally try something I’ve always wanted to. I could focus on my artistic side, while simultaneously trying other things outside of fashion, and not feeling limited. As an aspiring fashion designer, it is important to know how to communicate well with others, to be fluent in business practices, and allow your own creativity to shine through your work. After my internship with fashion designer, Viktor Luna, I’ve learned so much about the fashion industry, business, and adulthood. An education from Syracuse goes beyond learning a subject for a grade or credit, but rather learning skills that can be applied directly to my life after college and continue on this path.
