College Athletes Should Be Student Athletes
I choose this article because it simply puts how the college athletes that we have around the country should be student athletes. At certain schools they have actually made it that the athletes sometimes never showed up at class but somehow they managed to pass that class. There was also another controversial topic on how the coaches of these D-1 schools get paid more money than the professors. The football players also think they should deserve some of the millions that they bring in but never see. I also find another good point on why they should transition and it is because most of the college athletes that play football are all childish and very immature to be playing a sport that millions of people and kids watch and look up to them.

“...Is money such a big problem for these student-athletes? Don't they receive scholarships? How much more money do they need?” Most college athletes received scholarships to play for the college they’re going to. They should not receive money for going to school and choosing to play a sport that they don’t have to do. Sports is always an option, no one has to play and no coach is going to force a student to play a sport and maybe cause a distraction from doing their school work.…

These College players are hard workers. They get their hard effort into the hard things they need to get done. I agree with this article because college players seem like they aren't hard working, or good enough. People that aren't getting the money they should be getting, is cruel. Athletes need to follow the rules the NCAA has set for them or they could lose their scholarship or eligibility to perform their sport and may have to leave their school.…

The notion of paying college athletes has been an ongoing and controversial debate for student-athletes, coaches, schools, media and most certainly the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA). Many would argue that playing major college sports is more like a job versus an extracurricular activity. As with the majority of many student athletes, some attend college with the aspiration of becoming professional players thereby college is seen as a means to end. Although student-athletes already receive compensation via full and partial scholarships to participate at the college level, passionate conversations will continue to be a topic of debate because of the enormous revenue generated by college sports.…

The first reason that college athletes are very important to a school. People who play sports in college don’t get paid for the work they do. They could get hurt or injured and they don’t get paid so they have to pay out of their own pockets and with their own money. Michigan's starting quarterback is out for the rest of the season because he broke his collarbone. If wilton speights had to pay for his medical bills, it would be a pain for him to pay all the money. College’s should pay student athletes for the services they do for the school. If colleges paid students that play sports it…

The answer that is commonly regarded as the safe choice is to finish school then go pro. If an athlete were to choose this choice the benefits would clearly outweigh the risks. It has been a debate for quite some time as to whether college athletes should be paid for their work on the field. They are some of the hardest working individuals that obtain intense practices and demanding college courses, and many believe that they should be rewarded for their hard work. But the ongoing debate is whether it is right to pay these players as if they were employees. Many major colleges provide the best services for their athletes by providing them with the greatest gyms to workout in, free health insurance for injuries, transportation, food, equipment, and most of the time, a full four-year scholarship. On top of all of these things that are provided, does it seem right to be paying these students as well? Determination and motivation for greatness during college should be enough; therefore, I don’t think that college athletes should be paid.…
