My best friend was looking into being a Sonographer, so I looked into it as well and job shadowed a Sonographer at Maine General but didn’t find it very intriguing. Next I looked into being an Athletic Trainer because I loved sports. When looking at the expected job outlook for the next 10 years, athletic training was nowhere near the top of the list. I enjoy one on one conversations with people and relating to others in different ways. I have been a waitress for the past 3 years and have gained many skills including patience, which I had very little of before, the ability to start “small talk” with people, and the ability to keep a smile on my face even when people are rude and at times ungrateful. I believe all of these skills are necessary for a nurse to be successful.
