Exercise 1:
Use the idea chain provided for the preparation phase of your speech and generate ideas for the following theme: the importance of going to college.
Exercise 2:
Write an outlined speech, about the dangers of late abortions (having an abortion after 3 months of pregnancy). Follow all the steps given for the preparation process of speaking in public.
Exercise 3:
Here’s the subject of a speech: Save the white whale of the gulf of guinea.
Imagine you had to prepare handouts for your audience. Draft some ideas of what these handouts would contain before printing. Organize these ideas, so that they can support your speech (try to draft some ideas from your speech and think of some additional information …show more content…
you can provide to your audience, thus the necessity to print some handouts).
Exercise 4:
Prepare the appropriate speech that will go with the following short Documentary:
The effects of smoking: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l26f4f-V4jc
-Create slides (visual aids) that can be used as another alternative to the documentary.
-what would be the main ideas generated of you used the idea generator (or idea chain), for this subject.
-finally, write down a fully written speech for the subject (follow the guidelines given to you in this article).
The better you speak, the better they will learn Public speaking; a nightmare that can be assimilated to a phobia for some; but so necessary sometimes, when you want to transmit a message.
It’s almost as if the whole world was watching you, and in a sense it is true; the world is watching you when you have to denunciate what is wrong, or what should be done. When corporations are not acting right, somebody needs to speak up; or when nobody seems to care about how people are reckless with what they eat, you could be the one attempting to change tendencies; with a speech.
The steps are not difficult to follow, and you can come up with a very good job in just 24 hours. As soon as you know the format of your speech, you are halfway there. The process of generating ideas is elementary and practical at the same time. It will take you less than an hour to come up with some solid arguments for your speech. The rehearsing part is fun and like a discovery phase; where you learn about your flaws and also try to get rid of them.
Giving your speech, after going through the preparation phase in less than 24 hours, becomes a walk in the park after that. You will look and act more confident. You will face the crowd with less fear, and that’s basically most of what you need to give the perfect
speech.
Preparation can be done in less than 10 hours, so stop thinking that 24 hours is too short for this task. Start using the options you have at hand and good luck!
