protect.
I shout at the top of my lounges directing my defenders left and right to rapidly set up a wall and get in place to prevent the ball ending up in the back of the net. Finally the opposing team winds up to take the kick and strikes the ball with full force towards goal, and I take a step to the right and completely stretch out my body to deflect the ball away from the goal. However, as I stretch and tip the ball away from the goal; here comes an opposing player blistering towards my way and swings his right foot with full force and misses the ball but impacts with my nose. I lay flat face down on the turf hearing footsteps pound against the turf towards my direction and the referee blow his whistle indicating to stop the game. I fell the little pebbles from the turf from sticking one by one to my arms as I roll over on the turf, however I cannot not feel my face all I sense is my face tingling from my the bottom of my chin to the top of my forehead and warmth throughout my body. When I finally roll over I cannot see a thing, everything looks blurry as if I were wearing glasses effecting my vision. I rise to my feet and hear the referee
direct me towards the sidelines to see the athletic trainer. While jogging to the sidelines I gain my vision back and see blood gushing out of both of my nostrils on to my jersey. The trainer rapidly rushes towards his kit grabs two strips to stop the blood pouring out of my nose and stuff the two strips down my nose and halts the bleeding. Now within 5 seconds the trainer informs me that I will not be able to finish the game and my nose has been broken. I yell at my top of lounges echoing throughout the stadium full of anger and frustration that I will not be able to finish the game. Right after the game my mom rushes me to the E.R, where they refer me to an eyes, nose, and ears doctor to complete surgery on my broken nose. The following week I set up my appointment and have the surgery to straighten my nose and bring my breathing back to normal. Although after the surgery the doctor informs me that I will have to sit out a couple of weeks with no soccer! Finally a couple of weeks past and I’m back to playing and working my hardest day and night like I never have before ,and in the end of the season I was rewarded with being named first team all-district goalie.
