College Honors College
This fall, I will be transferring to Kent State University. I believe that by transferring schools, I be presented with a host of exciting new opportunities. The Kent State University Honors College is one opportunity I am particularly excited about.

I decided to apply to the Honors College because I am a student who loves to be challenged. At my current university, I am not enrolled in an honors program, or am taking honors level classes. The reason for this is that as an incoming freshman, I was anxious about what my college workload would be like, and chose not to apply to the honors program. This is a decision that I truly regret. I have really enjoyed the classes that I’m taking, but I don’t feel that I’m being challenged in any of them. I received a 4.0 GPA last semester, and was on the Dean’s List. While this was a huge honor, I did not feel

As a transfer student, I believe that it is very important to get connected and involved with the campus, and new make friends. By being a member of the Honors College, I feel that I would really develop a strong connection with the other honors students. I would see honors students in many of my classes. I hope to live in Stopher or Johnson Hall, which would allow me to live with fellow Honors students, allowing me to make even stronger connections.

My final reason for choosing to apply to the Honors College is that I would like to be able to have smaller classes. I feel that by having smaller classes, I would be able to form a better relationship with my professors, and also have a more personalized learning experience. At my current university, I am always attending my professors’ office hours to help me gain more insight and knowledge about the classes that I’m so passionate about

From a lack of available parking spaces, to poorly managed dining services, the university has no shortage of problems that need to be solved. One problem in particular that deserves immediate attention is the issue of the Honors College. Being enrolled in the Jesup Scott Honors College is a prestigious honor and is a well-respected program; however, there are issues within the Honors College that make it difficult for the wide-eyed, ambitious freshmen to graduate as honors students. A major dilemma that works against students is the seemingly endless list of requirements to graduate with honors. Students are expected to complete 33 semester hours of honors courses, in addition to completing a capstone thesis and enroll in upper-level interdisciplinary seminars. These requirements may even be more strict for students in different majors/colleges. Another problem, is the lack of incentives for students to remain in the Honors College. While the thought of graduating with a medallion around one’s neck and more knowledge than most may seem enticing to some, most students need something extra to encourage them to stay in the program. Finally, an issue that impacts the majority of honors students is the lack of…

My junior year of high school, according to several of my trust worthy teachers, should be rigorous and competitive if I ever wanted a chance to get into college. Naturally, being a gullible fool, I signed up for two AP classes, an honor class, and a sport. As a sport I chose wrestling, it was very time consuming but I knew I could manage. I felt pretty confident about AP biology and Algebra 2 honors since they were subjects I was fairly skilled in. but as for my other AP course, AP language and Composition, I was a bit uneasy.…

Hi, I’m Suzzana, I think you know that by now. I’m currently attending Camden County College. I am transferring because as you might know, most community colleges are two year schools. Community College has been great for me. I was never achievement orientated when I was in grade school. I was enrolled in an alternative school since the 8th grade. I was behind in my academics, but I would like to say I compensate in life experience. When I was younger around the age of 9 I was bullied a lot. I was chubby and I increasingly gained weight at that time. My influx of weight was the baggage of my emotions and my families struggles. My parents divorced when I was 10, my mom was escorted out by police. I only had my dad for a year. Then, I had missed…

So I want to attend a place known as Prairie View A&M University. Well, for starters, Prairie View is a beautiful campus esthetically and a wonderful historically black university. The university is like a diamond in the rough. Most individuals know very little or only know Prairie View for their phenomenal band; but what they don’t know is the university has an excellent engineering and business degree program. What the majority don’t know is that Prairie View is the second oldest school in the state of Texas, founded in 1876, carrying history dated back to slavery (for which some of the original features are present throughout the campus). Next, they are not aware that Prairie View offers a variety of degree plans that fosters growth from art to science curriculums. In addition to the educational aspect, Prairie View fosters development in extra-curricular activities like band, dance, football, golf and etc. Attending a university with so much history and success has been nostalgic.…
