Why is saving for and attending college important to you and your family? Have you ever saved money for something or watched another person save? Describe what you learned in the process of saving or what you learned from watching the other person. How will you apply what you learned in order to achieve your savings goal with this scholarship?
College is extremely important for my family and I. Once I get my job over the summer if time allows then I committed myself to save 10% of the money I earned for college. I’ve watched my family saved money over the years for vacation.
Attending college is my number one priority. Once I attend college then I will be one of the first to go to college from my sibling. I become the first to go to college then it will set a good example for by four younger siblings. It will let them know that money can’t stop anything and that money can’t interfere with their goals and dreams. My parents came to America from Sudan as refugees they always are saying that they want the best education and the best life for my siblings and I. My parents want us to experience things that they couldn’t have in Sudan. On the other hand, saving for college is also important for my family and I.

It took me about five months to save for the Garmin Forerunner 15 it was about $60. Last semester I achieved a 4.0 GPA, and every time if I achieve a 4.0 or 3.9 GPA then my parents would give me $25. During the holidays my family members would give me money and I save the money and not spend it like my sisters did. I learned during the process that if I want something really bad then I would have to wait for it. I also learned that I need to plan for the future and get in the mindset that I will be saving money in the future. Last but least, I learned that I need to START NOW what I mean by that is if I want something really bad then I should start
