As I continue to grow in college, I have identified one of my vocations is to be around people and help them to explore and learn in life. I find happiness connecting and serving people as they experience life, both the struggles and the achievements. My current career path is to become a high school teacher, particularly in chemistry, because of the interactions with students and the fact that working with people means a new adventure everyday. I hope that becoming a collegiate fellow will help me develop and hone my mentoring, organizing, and leadership skills to apply in my future.
I have also been inspired by my CFs and friends that are CFs to be an active, central hub in the resident buildings and on campus. They have demonstrated the joy and ingenuity they have to utilize when they build community, enforce safety, and help residents in their transitions from school into society. My CFs have played a large part of my growth and comfort at Gustavus and my interest in a CF position is to help perpetuate the positive atmosphere I have experienced to current and future Gusties.
