Columbus Discovered America Quote Analysis

One of the quotes I find most interesting is the quote that Ptolemy had saying that “Earth is the center of the universe” although at the time was what they had thought due to humans not being as technologically evolved to figure that out. That quote reminds me of one my elementary school teachers would state which was that “Columbus discovered America.” Which is false because of where columbus landed at islands at that none of which were in America. Those islands he landed on were already inhabited anyways. The “Indians” also known as the people of the island Columbus named Hispaniola were there first with an inhabitants of over 250,000 people. Columbus had them tied up and killed thinking they had gold although none of the islanders had never
