INTRODUCTION

Globalization is a process of economical communication between people, companies and governments of different nations, that is, interaction and integration among these groups (the people, companies and governments of different nations). This process has both negative and positive effects on the environment, culture, political systems, economic development and human physical well-being in societies around the world. In this assignment, I will thus discuss advantages and disadvantages that globalization brought to our country, hence the discussion will be based on increased business opportunities, Employment creation, Education and training, Living standard, Economic infrastructure and development, Government regulation, International trade as well as Innovation and technology.

Since the beginning of globalization and global trade there has always been a collection of core nations in competition with each other for economic dominance and access to the world’s resources. Globalization can be linked back before the times of the Enlightenment, when international trade was emerging. Once the world was opened up to these vast networks through world trade, it opened the doors for integration, migration, and the spread of knowledge. Integration was now a large part of society and took on many different forms. One form of integration is consolidation, where smaller political units joined together and created an empire. With creations of such empires, smaller units such as kingdoms, tribal federations, or city…

Author argues with this statement saying that South Africa has played a key role in bringing to the fore some of the critical concerns of developing countries and the size of economy does not usually depend on the influence which country may provide. Before including to BRIC members South Africa already cooperated in many multinational areas with India and Brazil such as forming the IBSA grouping in 2003, evolving in World Trade Organization (WTO) and in UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC). Nowadays South Africa, India, China and Brazil are trying to break the dominance of the advanced economies, who controlled the processes in these forums before the advent of the BRICS. Author also mentioned that, South Africa is not just an African representative – it stands on itself and it was the first developing country, 1997 which was to initiated in WTO legislative…
