Come to the Poconos
The poconos is the greatest place to spend summer vacation! From swimming to camping, and from roasting marshmallows to singing sweet songs around the fireplace. What is your ideal place of a PERFECT summer vacation? In my opinion, The Poconos is the perfect place.

So first we go on to swimming. Wouldn't the cool refreshing water sooth you down after being in the sun all day long? I bet it would. So camping is a great way to bond with the entire family. You all can tell stories around the fireplace. Parents may be recalling memories from their childhood. Tears of joy may fall on your laps and you may say "I miss those moments." Well in a few years you will probably be saying that about this vacation to the Poconos once you go.

Something else is that you can hike up a mountain or hill. The breeze blowing through your hair and taking a deep breath feeling so relaxing. You can have a picnic with a loved one on a mountain and remember this as the best date of your life. You can even rock climb. For some people who are afraid of heights, you will get rid of your biggest fear.

Now that you know all of this about the Poconos, makes you want to know, doesnt it? Well, luckily for you, Poconos are open anytime and i promise you that it will be an adventure. An adventure that you will never forget. Tell the rest of the family about it and go ahead and have the time of your life.

Enjoy the great outdoors of Utah at the Moab KOA, the Adventure Capital of the West. Moab KOA is only 15 minutes from Arches National Park and the Dead Horse State Park & Canyonlands National Park, so it's considered a transition point as you plan your treks and hikes. For hiking beginners though, you can also just stay in the Moab Campground which has a variety of outdoor activities for you to choose from such as biking, running, or jeeping. You can also swim in their new resort-style swimming pool. If glamping's your thing, the Moab KOA has a lot of deluxe cabins aside from camping cabins and tent sites. Best of all, it has WIFI and a general store so you can reconnect with people at home or replenish your stocks before going to your next…

By my accounting, it would take us about 8 hours to reach our destination, so our plan was to be on the trail by no later than 11 AM, which would give us sufficient time to comfortably hike the ten miles to campsite 98, set up our equipment and have a meal well before nightfall. Since the hike did not include any major elevation changes, I felt that this was more than sufficient time, even allowing for a minor setback or two, and a general slowdown because of the extra effort to carry the backpacks. As was so typical when hiking or traveling with my daughter, we were still packing our packs in our motel room in Pigeon Forge at 11 AM.…

Choosing a vacation can sometimes be difficult or even overwhelming. Especially when your family can be indecisive at times, it can be so much harder. Although when we saw Hocking Hills in a brochure we knew that’s where we wanted to go. Originally, we wanted to go to North Carolina, but my parents couldn’t find any hotels. Hockings Hills had breathtaking cabins and there were lots available at low cost. So Hocking Hills is what we chose instead. Off we went, on a 2 hour and 30 min car ride to Hocking Hills. When we got there it was so beautiful I couldn’t stop running around like a chicken with it’s head cut off. I couldn’t wait to get started doing things. There was even a hot tub!…

The week starts out with multiple people all coming at different times to set up their campers and/or their tents. We have two separate sides, the Meeker side and the Kinsella side. When you pull into Willow Lake, you will see the lake on your right, you continue around a few corners and you enter your first loop of campgrounds, this is where the Kinsella’s’ camp. You continue around this loop and you enter into the second loop where the Meeker’s camp. As soon as the families get there, the kids are running out of the cars to go and play, they don’t come back around until it is time to come and eat dinner or if they are tattling on another kid. As the week carries on, plenty more people show up. Throughout the first couple days parents just sit around and catch up on life. When it starts to get later in the evening, the adults head over to the horseshoe pits, where you will find them every night of the rest of the week. Friday nights are the big nights. Fish Fri Friday, we set up a huge cooking area on the Kinsella side where all of the family helps out to prepare a big dinner. Once the meal is prepared, it gets set up on a long table then everyone makes their way through the line. Once everybody is finished eating everybody helps to clean up the mess and do all the dishes, the fun part! After this is finished, we head back to the horseshoe pit. Saturday…

When it comes to choosing classes for a semester I always try to choose an enjoyable class. One where I know I will not have to stress over tests and homework. Last semester was weight training. This semester as I was browsing I stumbled upon a class titled Geology 270. This class caught my attention right away. I looked at the course description and read it. The thing that stood out the most was that in this class we would study the geology of the eastern Sierra Nevada in one of the most unique ways one could think of, a 3 day field trip. I have never been camping and I thought this would be the best way to do it for the first time. I figured since I would go with teachers and other students it would be both fun and educational. I was not wrong. So, I signed up for the class and signed up my sister for it too. The day of the field trip came quickly.…

Ordinarily, my summers are spent at home, but when they’re not, I spend them at Lake George. There is so much to love about it. For example, the cabins with wood burning fireplaces, the sound of friendly chatter and all the activities outside of the lake. Waking up early, I walk towards the lake and sit down to read. My favorite spot is under a tree, consuming shade and cool air. I savor the refreshing temperature and quietness of each morning.…

As a child, I had the chance to travel to various parks but my favorite place was always Kings Island. Me and my family travel to Ohio at least four times a month. Every Friday night, we’ll all stay up until sunrise. Before we get on the highway, me and my sister including my parents will share a prayer. I always beat everybody to the car sitting in the front seat yelling “LETS GO”. The whole time on the road, we’ll all play cards, listen to music, and eat a few snacks. We save the meals for when we get there and also for the trip back home. After an hour on the road, I tend to just go to sleep until we reach our destination. That was always the routine, it never fails.…
