Overall, the process of producing my group’s scene was highly positive. Everybody in the group was able to contribute their personal skills to improve the finished product: for example, Lauren used her strong artistic ability to design the set. Additionally, everybody in the group was enthusiastic about the scene and willing to help it succeed. I contributed to the group by finding and editing the script, and helping my groupmates learn their lines, movements, and characters. However, issues arose when differences in personality within the group became apparent during the process. Specifically, my desire to make the scene as good as possible led to having unrealistic expectations of myself and others in terms of contributing time and energy, as well as micromanaging the project somewhat, leading to frustration. …show more content…
This change was made because the full-length performance was too long to memorize and we started making mistakes and forgetting whole segments past the halfway point, and because the portion that we ultimately performed contained many of the funniest moments in the show. Secondly, our final performance was performed on a built set in the drama room rather than in the library because the library was too large and was capturing our energy. Thirdly, our final performance had a much higher level of energy than our dress rehearsal. The comment we received the most after our dress rehearsal was that the overall energy was too low, so it was important for us to rectify it for the final performance.
