Commentary On The Book 'Unbroken'
This book was very moving. I liked the fact that it was a true story and included many

facts along with humor. Being a historical biography the book may seem boring, but it definitely

was not. It told a miraculous World War II story and I would definitely recommend the book to

anyone.

Unbroken has many good aspects. For instance, Louie, the main character, as well as all

of the other characters are well developed. I was able to get a very clear picture of the characters’

personalities. It was also pretty suspenseful even though it consisted of many facts. The book is

written very smoothly and it is not a “chore” to read. It includes lots of things from the actual

characters in the story and pictures of them and the places they

It was a little too short and fast paced. The author was trying to tell us that if there is a will, there is a way. JR solved a mystery and outsmarted some humans. Sometimes, unlikely heroes can take charge and save the strays- and possibly every dog in Moscow. It also shows that sometimes you need to take risks. JR risked his life to save his friends. These lessons also apply to real life, even though the book is fiction. For example, if someone needs to cross a bridge and they’re afraid of heights, they will if they have courage. If they want to, they can. The book made a clear point, and I would surely recommend it to…

Laura Hillenbrand’s Unbroken: A World War II Story of Survival, Resilience, and Redemption follows the story of Louie Zamperini, a rebellious child who grew up to become one of the fastest runners of the 1930s. Midway through 1943, his B-24 crash landed in the Pacific Ocean. For weeks, Louie and two other men drifted westward across a seemingly endless ocean, accompanied by a pack of sharks and surviving on scraps of bird and fish meat and the occasional rainfall. Eventually, he arrived in Japanese…

In my mind the book was very interesting. Some parts most readers could have dealt with less detail such as his abusive childhood. The book was extremely accurate coming from a Navy Seals point of view. All of the missions most readers have heard about have more details that the news couldn’t tell you. To me the book was very important, I like to know what how someone could go through something like becoming a Navy Seal and how they survive. Every detail was important to the story because if the author didn’t say what was said then the book could have been completely different.…

There are many things that I really enjoyed reading in my book. Some of those things would have to be just how accurate everything seemed to be. A good example of this would be how Mrs. Bowen put all of the dates and historical events into the arguments that were held in making the Constitution. Another thing that I liked was just how the author made me…

Hope is the only thing stronger than fear. A little hope is effective. A lot of hope can be dangerous. In “Unbroken,” a novel by Laura Hillenbrand, hope is the only thing that doesn’t leave this novel for the main character, Louie Zamperini. The biggest thing I noticed from this book is the character development. This book is based on the character Gunnar Kaufman's life, so of course character development is needed since everyone changes drastically from elementary school to adulthood. Beatty, though, almost turns that development into an art form. Every event that happens to Gunnar adds to his personality in the book and affects his actions for the rest of the story.…

Unbroken by Laura Hillenbrand recounts Louis Zamperini’s struggles in early-life, the Pacific Theater, and post-war life, as well as his persistence to triumph over such obstacles. Hillenbrand’s novel has also become a major motion picture, which also goes by the same name. Although, both the film and novel contain key struggles that Louis had to overcome, the film focuses more on Louis’ experience while the novel delves deep into Zamperini’s story and takes into consideration many of his friends and foes.…
