Common Core is a controversy subject in education but the real intention for these state standards are to have a clear set of shared goals and expectations for the knowledge and skills students will need in mathematics, English at grade level for them to be successful in college, career, and life. Common Core was created by teachers and also experts across the country these standards were designed to ensure that students would be able to get into freshman-level college courses and also the prepare them for the workforce. Former Arizona Gov. Janet Napolitano, chair of National Governors Association from 07-08 now leads the University of California System. Dane Lin who is vice president of the Business Roundtable who oversees its Education and Workforce Committee says Napolitano started it all she wrote “The more she thought about it, she came to the conclusion that America couldn't lead the world in innovation and remain to be competitive if we didn't have an internationally competitive education system. Common Core is composed of many different sectors including commissioners of education, chief executive officers and experts in higher education. Trump believes we should stay on a local level when it comes to education. Clinton supports Common Core and No Child Left Behind programs. Donald Trump says “Common Core. We’re going to bring education and we’re going to bring the parents and get the parents involved and the people locally involved. He believes it is a ridiculous program set up by bureaucrats in Washington that are collecting a paycheck. Donald Trump also talks about how we are rated twenty-eight in the world and how we spend more money than any other country and yet we are still rated twenty- eight having world countries beating us (www.cbsnews.com) Trump believes that Common Core is no good and we should be focused on a local level to get better results. Clinton is a big advocate of Common Core she believes that it gives students a core learning to achieve across our country no matter, how poor the family is, that they wouldn’t be any divisions in education. She believes that everyone will be looking at what is being learned and how they will achieve it. Clinton has said that common core will help to understand what organizes the whole education system. She is also a supporter of every individual being on the same learning path that is given in the Common Core layout. These choices could affect our education in the future either could be a positive
