Common core is the standardization of curriculum for students in public K-12 schools in the United States. It was developed with teachers and representatives from 48 states. Common core creates a more cohesive education, one that is more or less the same in every district and state. It does not dictate what or how teachers must educate their students but instead sets guidelines as to where students should be academically at the beginning of each school year.
