According to The Global Warming’s Six Americas, the knowledge about climate change varies widely across the American public. The researchers at George Mason University and Yale broke down the U.S. adult population into six different categories (Alarmed, Concerned, Cautious, Disengaged, Doubtful, and Dismissive) based on people’s beliefs, behaviors, concerns, and policy preferences regarding global warming. Alarmed being the most engaged and motivated with the highest belief in global warming, and Dismissive being the least.
