The major problem portrayed in the case is the lack of communication between both parts, Jane seemed to be shocked that she is not doing well and didn’t expect such a response from her manager, this shows that Jane didn’t ask before about her performance and didn’t take the right approach to see her performance in her job.
And also her manager seemed not to be bothered to tell her about her performance, specially knowing that she might be waiting to get promoted on her two-year mark in the job, which is apparently what happens when you are doing well in this particular job.

One-way to maintain a strategic distance from any miscommunication may be giving clear directions, or making inquiries when there is any disarray while performing an errand. Besides, tending to an issue at its minute is another method for staying away from any issue that may emerge.
For this situation a noteworthy issue is that Jane Avery's manager Martin Craig did not give her any input on her execution. This methodology does not give Jane any reason or inspiration to change her execution methods. I would suggest that the organization would implement more evaluations to their employees regularly, twice or three times a year, having this system would prevent cases such as the one mentioned to happen. And it will also improve the performance of the employees since they know what are their weak points, and also it would encourage them if they see they are doing well and focus on their strong
