In the movie He’s Just Not That into You, there were six relationships that were formed based on communication or a lack of communication. The couples presented in the movie are, Alex and Gigi, whose relationship began as a friendship. Ben and Janine, who have been together since college and are married. Ben and Anna, who had a share of intimacy with each other although Ben was married to Janine. Beth and Neil, they were together for 7 years but have yet to get married due to Neil’s “beliefs”. Connor and Anna, were the “could have been” couple. Connor liked Anna a lot, but Anna maintained a friends with benefits relation with him. Lastly, Connor and Mary accidentally turned their business relationship into a full blown intimate relationship. Every relationship has a starting point, a middle point and ending phase. All parts of a relationship can be proven and backed up by the interpersonal relationship stages, theories, and communication, or interpersonal conflict and conflict management.
