Abstract

Endocrine system which is linked to human hormone production may have complication thus rendering the body unable to breakdown stored fat while accelerating the conversion of glucose to glycogens which are the storage units of fat in the human body. On the other hand, the affected individual may have some lifestyle behaviors which might cause him or her to develop obese and its complication. For instance, consumption of highly fatty food products such as junk food with low levels of physical activities may induce cases of obese. While focusing on Bridgeport city, an estimated figure of 90% of the childhood obese cases is due to physical inactivity. Though the percentage figure may remain within the 90% mark, the real figures on the ground are dramatically increasing due to high population influx in the city of Bridgeport. Consequently, if the situation is not put into control by addressing the grass root issues or contributory factors, the number may triple within the next decade. Pediatricians in Bridgeport city have a hard task to address this issue of childhood obese. Consequently, since the parent or the guardians are the watchtowers towards their children’s health, they have to be well versed and informed about childhood obesity otherwise nothing of importance can be achieved. This state has been addressed frivolously without showing the implications as being life menacing factor; both the society and health practitioners such as nurse should be in the front line in mitigating the causative factors as well as mitigating the overall effect of the condition. Childhood obesity has a vast number of adulthood complications, it can have little effect to the affected young child while at his or her tender age but has adverse effect and repercussions as the child grow older. For instance, childhood obesity exposes the child to complications such as heart diseases including cardiac arrest, poor body immunity thus reducing the life expectancy. Basing on the Bridgeport city population information, if the condition is not contained, only few individual will have the privilege of growing to their old age (Meyers, 2006). This may result to a highly skewed population of the Bridgeport city. Research studies issued by the New York chronicles reveal that the leader of pediatrics in the Bridgeport city community addressing childhood obesity in Bridgeport to be at epidemic levels in that area
