Community Service Strengths

I do not do a lot of community service, but when I do it is usually related to helping those who are less fortunate or those who have disabilities. My interest in such organizations began when I worked in the special interventions room in my high school. My earliest memories of volunteering come from helping out at the Shelby County Special Olympics.
When it comes to community service I have a variety of strengths. One big strength is that I know everyone is different and instead of looking at this in a bad way, I look at it as a way to learn even more new ideas. This is especially important when working with those with disabilities. I also believe that I am a positive example for others. I set a good example and I am someone that people can look up to.
I pride myself on my strengths, but I know that I also have some weaknesses when it comes to leadership. When it comes to feedback I do not always want it. The reason that I do not want it is because I am afraid of negative feedback, but I should be open to it as a opportunity to grow. I also am not always open to everyone contributions. If it is not how I want it done or if it is not to a certain standard it can sometimes be hard for me to accept. This organization is important because it offers career opportunities and/or a place for those with disabilities to go. It is important to me because I believe that everyone should be treated as equally as possible and should have similar opportunities offered to them. I have worked with and know many individuals who have disabilities and who have a lot to offer. Without the support of others they would not be able to find jobs or make products that other individuals would enjoy. These individuals are capable of a lot, but they need a little bit of help getting
