Executive Summary

In the competitive world of business, it is important to use skilful workforce in any organisation to help take advantage of all the resources available to the company to maximize their profit and be efficient in every way possible. It is therefore the duty and obligation of the operation management to see that all these are made possible. The operation management of the company must have proper experience and knowledge of how to handle different situations, how to manage resources, and mainly tackle any kind of problem that may arise during the functioning of any department in the company. The report submitted in the following pages, is (based on an exhaustive interview with the contracts manager of the company), analyses the company, Shutdown Maintenance Services (SMS), on the basis of, i.e., quality, speed, dependability, flexibility, and, cost. The assignment also illustrates and explains how each stage of the above mentioned objective principles are implemented and more importantly the analysis of the company based on these principles. By analysing the company, we understand how efficient and competitive the company currently is and how can we provide suggestions to gain maximum efficiency and profit not only economic wise but the company as a whole. This assignment report has been divided in the following sequential order. First, brief information of the company and a conceptual understanding of the working between different levels of the company, which gives what the company is aiming for in the market.
