ABSTRACT
Our work focus on moral decay among teachers in Tanzania especially secondary school teachers towards academic performance of students. Recent results in National examination for secondary schools show poor performance of students, many things have been reported as the causes of these poor performances including increase moral decay among teachers.
This paper explain why moral decay among teachers and it suggest the ways forward to eradicate this problem and to boost students' performance.
Financial problems, globalization, poor social status and respect of teaching profession, media and religion are mentioned as the causes of moral decay among teachers and ways like raising teachers' salaries, review of recruitment procedures on teaching profession
INTRODUCTION
Moral decay simply is a term used to describe the lack of moral codes or ethics that can be attributed to a lack of religion, lack of accountability, finances or other reasons. Moral decay may lead to people stealing and lying or even committing more grave acts such as murder because of the loss of moral fortitude.
