Comparative paper on Macbeth, Throne of Blood, and Final Destination
“Fate has a way of charting its own course…but before one surrenders to the hands of destiny, one might consider the power of the human spirit and the force that lies in one’s own free will” (Lost, 2010). There are many elements or factors that can influence the creation or the theme developed in a play or movie, such as the case of Macbeth (1606) and Throne of Blood (1957). In the case of Macbeth (1606), one of the most well-know plays written by William Shakespeare in 1606 has a very frankly dark theme. According to BBC © (2013), at the time it was written, the author was involved, in an indirect way, in a tense political context triggered by the death of Queen Elizabeth I, who did not leave any heirs, and also by the failed attempt against James I of England in 1605 by a group of provincial English Catholic commanded by the famous Guy Fawkes. According to the Parliament of The United Kingdom (2013), James I was not well accepted among the population of England, because his accession to the power was not chosen for anyone. In fact, it was just because he was a relative of Queen Elizabeth, and selected for one simple reason; he managed to carry a protestant reign in Scotland, thus he was the best option between Elizabeth I’s relatives. Macbeth has a dark and cynical environment
