Introduction

For the comparative Study of two business leaders, I am taking Bill Gates and Steve jobs as the leaders from the Information Technology Industry who had revolutionized the Information Technology world with their great thinking and innovation. As far as their education is concerned they both don’t have a good record, they both were the dropouts. As I am doing the comparative study, I will be considering the differences and similarities between Bill Gates of Microsoft and Steve Jobs of Apple Computer, two of the most successful Business Leaders in the world of personal computing.

Early days.

Steve Jobs (born in Green Bay, Wisconsin on the 24th of February 1955) is best known as the co-founder & CEO of Apple Computer and somewhat less so for his leadership of Pixar Animation Studio which is a computer animation studio. Steve Jobs was adopted by Justin and Clara Jobs of Mountain View, Santa Clara County, California who named him Steven Paul Jobs. Jobs married Laurene Powell. The couple have three children. On the other hand, Bill Gates (born in Seattle, Washington on the 28th of October 1955) is married to Melinda French Gates and has three children. Bill Gates is the co-founder and current Chairman and Chief Software Architect of Microsoft. On June 27, 2008, Gates transitioned out of a day-to-day role in the company to spend more time on his global health and education work at the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. Both started their careers almost at the same time and within the same industry. They are without a doubt two of the most successful and wealthy men in the PC industry.
Steve Jobs is a true creative thinker and technological leader while Bill Gates is the opportunity seeker. The competition and rivalry between Gates and Jobs has become one of the most enduring and fascinating in the American business industry. In

I consider Bill Gates and Steve Jobs to be the greatest leaders in American business. Over the past 25 years, technology was the industry of choice for many of the top business people. Microsoft 's Bill Gates and Apple’s Steve Jobs both exemplify the explosion in that realm. Gates, Microsoft chairman and world 's richest man, is the No. 1 business leader of the past quarter-century for his mix of entrepreneurial energy, dogged leadership and philanthropic interest. The points that make them great leaders are the fact that they were both great visionaries. For example Bill Gates vision was that “Every business and household must have a computer and must run Microsoft software” while Steve Jobs vision was “to make the best devices in the world, not to be the biggest”. Other important point was the fact that they considered failures to be learning lessons. Bill Gates quoted in one of his conferences that “Your most unhappy customers are your greatest source of learning”. Another important point that distinguishes them from being managers is the ability to recognize an opportunity and the ability to capitalize on that opportunity. Inspiring trust within the employees of an organization is also a key feature of a leader, a feature that was well executed by both Bill Gates and Steve Jobs. It was there leadership qualities as well as their managerial skills that enabled them both to be huge business successes.…

William Henry Gates III was born on October 28, 1955, in Seattle, Washington. He was the second child and only son of William Henry Gates Jr. and Mary Maxwell Gates. His father, being a Seattle attorney and his mother being a schoolteacher helped him achieve his brilliant state. In middle school, Gates developed an interest in computer science, a path which allowed him to explicate the smarts he obtained in the form of technology. Although many may argue that such technology is forcing us to take a step backwards in our social interactions, Bill Gates, the 20th century ambitious revolutionist, contrived the software that aided society to prosper.…
