Compare And Contrast A Christmas Carol
An abundance of people think books are boring and tedious to finish, so stories have been adjusted to be more appealing. There are many versions of ¨A Christmas Carol¨ from dramas, to movies, and even some Christmas specials on TV shows but, it was originally a book. Is the book truly the best version? The comic version of “A Christmas Carol” is the best model compared to the book because it is modified in a more amusing way, and readers can assimilate to story faster.
There are many reasons to why “A Christmas Carol” original is not as good as the comic. First of all, compared to the comic, the book is very long. For a teen there is not much free time to read with homework and after school activities, and “[some teens even spend] up to 17.5

The self published novella 'A Christmas Carol' was written by Engligh author Charles Dickens in 1843. It sold all 6,000 copies within 9 days of hitting the stands and was met with instant success and critical acclaim. It tells the story of bitter old miser Ebenezer Scrooge and his reluctant jouney to find the Christmas Spirit guided by supernatural visitors Jacob Marley and the Ghosts of Christmases Past, Present and Yet to Come. The effect the Charles Dickens writings had on this rapidly waneing Christian Festival was so far reaching and well received that many refered to him as 'The Man who Invented Chrristmas'. While Dickens didn’t technically come up with Christmas, he couched its spirit in a philosophy and centered it on an image that compelled people to see it and feel it as he did. “There seems a magic in the very name of Christmas,” writes Dickens, when “petty jealousies and discords are forgotten.”…

For my Rhetoric In Practice Project, I decided to write a comic book which brings out the in-depth meaning in stories and thus helps readers or the audience comprehend the stories better. We know that all fairy tales have morals and lessons. But not every reader is able to grasp every moral from them. Some messages might be hidden and difficult to understand unless you read it a couple of time and exclaim, “Ohhhhh”. When I first read the prompt, I had thought about a lot of different genres to convey my message which is that “Appearances can be deceptive” but I felt that I could make something interesting which could catch the attention of the readers. In today’s world, where there are great animated movies, comics have taken a step back from…

I think one of the themes in this book is that in life sometimes someone can have the best intenitons to change people and change a culture, but it doesent work and the person conforms to that life. On the otherhand one reason the person intiontentions of new ideas might not work because that person could possibly be before their time meaning that the person ideas could be great for people in the future, it might not work in the present. In this story if Carol was around during the women’s revolution then her ideas could have been viewed as forward thinking and those ideas could have been used and she could have had a better life and could have felt that what she was doing was worth it in the end but because came earlier the majority of…

The characters were satisfactory. Although they were loud and energetic, they did not articulate their words. I could not understand anything that they were saying. I left out of the theatre knowing sixteen words: Rudolph, the, red, nose, reindeer, snow, pay, rent, moon, fuck, you, light, my, candle, Roger, and please! In fact, every line was sung. I felt like the characters were singing at me not to me. In addition, they were all over the place; the characters did not do a good job at conveying the story of Jonathon Larson, throughout the musical they kept running around, jumping, and screaming. By them doing that, it did not…

This book is a fun story about the cat in the hat showing young cat all about reading. He shows young cat all of the funny ways he can read and how much fun reading is. This book definitely packs a strong message to kids of how important reading is and how much fun it can be. Seuss stresses the importance of reading within the story by saying that reading will take you places. The book uses Seuss’s classic rhyme scheme making it a fun read for kids. The illustrations are also classic, cartoony pictures that use vibrant illustrations and show all kinds of funny characters. I liked this book when I was young because of how much fun it was to read. Because of the rhymes and silly attitude Seuss uses its hard for a child to not enjoy this book.…

A great work of art that has a great impact on my life is the novel A Christmas Carol by Charles Dickson. The story tells of a cold hearted, selfish business man named Ebenezer Scrooge, who is visited by his deceased business partner Jacob Marley and three ghosts on Christmas Eve. Jacob Marley who chained tells Scrooge that he should change his way or he will be punished in the after life. Marley beged for Scrooge to be given a chance to change. The ghost’s job is to persuade Scrooge to change his ways to avoid punishment in the afterlife. The three ghosts show Scrooge past, present, and future events that help Scrooge realize he is wrong and changes Scrooge into a better person. The story has had an impact on my life in many ways. The story taught me that a person’s behavior is a product of their past. If a person is unkind, it is the events that happened in their past that has made them who they are. It’s a reminder that showing compassion toward unkind people can make them a happier. The story has also taught me to treat people with kindness and respect. Lastly the story has taught me to always help the less fortunate because a little kindness can change a person's life.…

First, the 1999 adaptation has the best sets, costumes, and special effects, mostly because of it being newer than its movie counterparts. For example, when the fairy world is first introduced, there seems to be a party. With careful observation, all the background fairies, even the unimportant ones, are still costumed well, and fit in excellently. In contrast, the 1935 and 1968 adaptations have the main characters dressed appropriately, but the extras have costumes that are slightly inadequate. Also, the 1999 version has many different sets shown in just a short clip, from the woodsy fairy land to the cave where the party is to the rocky hill where Oberon and Titania meet. The changes between the different sets and scenes are smooth and logical, allowing the viewer to follow the storyline with…
