The heart breaking punishment and imprisonment that people in the North Korean prison camps are suffering is the most inhumane thing we have seen since Hitler tried to annihilate the entire Jewish race. Also, this is similar to when the white race tried whipping every last breathe out of the African American population during slavery in the antebellum South. Camp 14, as well as all prison camps, must be stopped for good as it is very similar to slavery in the antebellum South that happened long ago.
One way that antebellum South slavery compares to Camp 14 imprisonment is in education. Camp 14 means to educate their “prisoners”, but not the way we call education in America. Unless you count the old america where slavery was present not past. The base for education is not supposed to be based on what you want others to feel about your country. We as americans always know what is going on in the world, but the camp 14 people do not. Just like with slavery, they only knew what went on in the plantations. …show more content…
Another comparison between these two tragic conversations is lifestyle.
The lifestyle of the people in Camp 14 is very similar to what it was in the antebellum south. In the antebellum south these living quarters that we know of for slaves. Were not livable places we would pursuit today. Now we have toilets, showers, sinks, and a lot more sanitable items to help people in our world today, but not everywhere. Today in Camp 14 there is very little sanitable items. The Lack of nutrition the people of Camp 14 are getting is insurmountable which should not be the case for any human being. Especially ones that are the basis for our mathematics, society, and culture
today.
One last comparison would have to be the punishment between these two events. The punishment for the Camp 14 people which is very harsh and should never be done to anyone. Camp 14 executes their people for breaking the rules of the camp while slavery back into the antebellum south, either beat them or killed them. It was usually just a bad beating, but you would never know.
This is how i feel on this topic, and These are my comparisons and it is extremely hard to talk about it due to the harsh treatings of these human beings.
The insurmountable punishment and torture the people of Camp 14 are going through, and what the African American race went through are unspeakable things.
