Compare and Contrast Between Invictus and Anthem
Compare/Contrast of Invictus and Anthem The story of Invictus and anthem have many common themes but they are also very different in many ways. Even though these are completely different stories, it is almost like the characters from anthem and Invictus are the same. Invictus, which is the Latin word for “Unconquerable” which are what both of these characters are. Equality was given the name “The Unconquerable” by The Golden One explaining that he power and thinks for himself rather than for a whole group of his people. He is Unconquered because he is not afraid of the consequences when and if he does something wrong. In is custom sort of communism it is very rare to find someone like equality. In the story Invictus he is also unconquered but most of his problems are happening in his head. In the poem Invictus he his past problems have reoccurred in his head and have come back to haunt him. Instead of letting his mind conquer ignores all of it and takes control of his mind. In these stories, there are also things that make them different. In Invictus this person is thinking mentally happening in his mind, but for anthem things are happening physically in the real world. Usually, people will conquer there problems like Invictus did, but equality literally ran away from his problems and started a new life. These stories are both amazingly written and show that you can conquer your fears no matter what type of problem it is.     Any Rand’s novella Anthem is relatable to James Hurst’s short story The Scarlet Ibis, given that Equality 7-2125 has similar actions as the older brother in this short story. Both of these male figures worry. Each try changing the idea of a community or a specific person.
