Revenge is a very prevalent attribute in everyone 's mental thought process especially if you feel hurt or dissed by someone. In the Cask of Amontillado revenge is very much a big part of the whole theme of the story because Montressor feels that fortunato has disgraced his family 's name. Dolans Cadillac in which Robinson loses his wife due to Dolans selfish behavior, Robinson want’s to revenge his wife death. These two stories have many similarities not only because they both contain revenge but all throughout the story there are some similarities as well such as how both stories contain some ignorant narcissist “villain”, also both stories have the revenger plan their attack very carefully, and both Robinson and Montresor bury their victims alive and underground but in plain sight. These two stories both Cask of Amontillado and Dolan’s Cadillac both have a narcissistic villain that has done wrong to the revenger. In Cask of Amontillado Fortunato disgraces montresor’s family name and mock’s him. Montresor finds out that Fortunato has done this and feels betrayed and hurt by this. In Dolan’s Cadillac Robinson loses his wife because she witnessed some of Dolans horrible acts and was executed because she testified against him. Robinson is then filled with hatred of Dolan and revenge consumes him. Another thing that these two tales of revenge have in common is the revenger plan their attack very carefully and strategically according to their target. In Dolans Cadillac Robinson makes sure to plan his attack on Dolan very carefully because he wants to make sure he get it right and to make sure he doesn’t get caught.
