Compare And Contrast Christianity And Islam
World religions have their own characteristics that either differentiate them or relate them. Both religions, Christianity and Islam, are believed and practiced by millions, but in different ways. Christianity differs from Islam in beliefs, worship, and holidays. Starting on beliefs, Christianity enforces the belief that Jesus was the son of God and teaches that because Jesus resurrected and because of the miracles he carried out, he is their messiah. On the other hand, Islam believes Jesus was only a prophet like Muhammad, who was the last prophet. They believe Muhammad spoke with Angel Gabriel who finished the ideas of Islam and taught him there was only one God, which they called Allah. Christianity simply calls their God, God. Another Islamic belief was to achieve Jihad which is living how Allah would want one to live and be a good Muslim and almost similar to Christianity where people live under the 10 commandments. Worshiping is also another category to analyze. The place of worship for Christianity is a church whereas Islam’s place of worship is a mosque, but both places are meant for people to worship their God and read from their holy books. A major contrast that some might fail to notice would be Christianity has an image for God and Islam doesn’t have an image for Allah, but both Gods are said to be everywhere. The days of worship though differ where Christians worship on Sundays and Muslims worship on Fridays and both religions, Jerusalem is a holy city because they originated from there. Christianity’s amount of followers though are in the two billions, ranked number one, more than Islam’s followers which is in the one billions and fairly ranked number
