Christianity and Islam both developed in the same geographic place. They developed in west Asia. They were both able to create traditions from these regions especially from the Jewish people. Christianity was the first to be developed. It was inspired by the life and death of a prophet named Jesus. According to Christian belief his death and resurrection became a mythic center of the religion. This was then symbolized as eternal life. Years later the Muslim religion was created by the prophet Muhammad. The people who follow this religion also see Jesus as a prophet, but Muhammad was the one they mainly worshiped as the prophet of god and known as Allah.
