Compare And Contrast Christmas Carol
“I will honor Christmas in my heart. I will have the past, the present, and the future. This is a famous saying from the Christmas Carol. This is a famous novel from Charles Dickens. This story is about an old man named Scrooge who hated Christmas.

Scrooge in the movie is a very old guy who needs a Cane to walk but in the movie it just says he is an old man. It also says that when the bells rang he jumped up but in the movie is is just sitting in his chair staring and waiting for whatever is coming. Maybe you did not notice but also in the movie Scrooge goes from grumpy to happy really quick but in the book he goes really slow.

Also bob is a very slim man in the book but a very big man and he is short. He is also a very jolly man in the movie

For the live theatre show, I decided to watch “A Christmas Story, The Musical” directed by Valerie Easton at Vancouver Arts Club Stanley Industrial Aalliance Stage. The show focuses on a child named Ralphie, who wants a Red Ryder BB Gun for Christmas.Valerie’s production captured the happiness and cheerful atmosphere during Christmas and also focus on emphasizing Ralphie’s desire of a BB Gun as his Christmas present. During the show, I was impressed by many design and technical production elements. For example, the quick changes, the adequate use of theatre stage and also the use of sets to change from fantasy and reality. However, the most striking elements to me are the set piece of Ralphie’s house and the sufficient use of rigging system.…

Dante Alighieri and Charles Dickens are both well known authors from completely different regions and time periods yet there are many parallels between the two authors and their literature. A Christmas Carol and Dante’s Divine Comedy share many similarities and differences. Each novel is based around a central christian holiday, has a flawed main character encouraged to better themselves, and both manifest a tripartite structure. The greatest differences between the author’s and the literature are the time period, and the author’s personal lives. These are just a few examples of a how a Christmas Carol and Dante’s Inferno compare and contrast to one another.…

“ I wear the chain I forged in life…I made it link by link, and yard by yard; I girded it on my own free will and of my own free will I wore it” (Dickens 10). This statement made by Marley from “A Christmas Carol” not only embodies that of the story it hails from, but also another prominent Christmas classic titled “It’s A Wonderful Life”. Additionally both stories share similarities that only a senseless man could miss. But behind the mutual correlation between theses two literary plots, the storylines of the pre mentioned scripts do go in two diverse directions. Given these points, the characters and themes of these anecdotes are very comparable in more than one way while being very divergent…

I think one of the themes in this book is that in life sometimes someone can have the best intenitons to change people and change a culture, but it doesent work and the person conforms to that life. On the otherhand one reason the person intiontentions of new ideas might not work because that person could possibly be before their time meaning that the person ideas could be great for people in the future, it might not work in the present. In this story if Carol was around during the women’s revolution then her ideas could have been viewed as forward thinking and those ideas could have been used and she could have had a better life and could have felt that what she was doing was worth it in the end but because came earlier the majority of…

A major change made in this film is the arrival of the ghosts. This greatly differs from the novel. The ghost of Christmas yet to come has a hand of skin and does not speak but responds to scrooge in the form of an eerie metallic noise that evokes the screech of a cemetery’s gate. Although Marley’s ghost did appear, the ghosts wailing outside scrooge’s window were incognito. Scrooge’s fiancé, who eventually leaves him because of his misery ways, does not appear in the film, as were the two starving children Want and Ignorance who hid within the folds of the ghost of Christmas yet to come segment. In this production unlike the original story, Scrooge actually fires Cratchit rather than just threatening to do so. Unlike other portrayals on film, the cratchit’s Christmas Eve dinner is…

A great work of art that has a great impact on my life is the novel A Christmas Carol by Charles Dickson. The story tells of a cold hearted, selfish business man named Ebenezer Scrooge, who is visited by his deceased business partner Jacob Marley and three ghosts on Christmas Eve. Jacob Marley who chained tells Scrooge that he should change his way or he will be punished in the after life. Marley beged for Scrooge to be given a chance to change. The ghost’s job is to persuade Scrooge to change his ways to avoid punishment in the afterlife. The three ghosts show Scrooge past, present, and future events that help Scrooge realize he is wrong and changes Scrooge into a better person. The story has had an impact on my life in many ways. The story taught me that a person’s behavior is a product of their past. If a person is unkind, it is the events that happened in their past that has made them who they are. It’s a reminder that showing compassion toward unkind people can make them a happier. The story has also taught me to treat people with kindness and respect. Lastly the story has taught me to always help the less fortunate because a little kindness can change a person's life.…
