My favorite work out to do is bench

I have been to many basketball camps since I have entered high school. After a couple of years they become routine for players. I got my first opportunity this summer to go to a football camp at CHadron University which I figured couldn’t be too much different than a basketball camp. I figured you played a few games, went to bed, woke up sore and repeat the process like in basketball. I found out that there are actually a lot of differences between basketball and football camps then people would think.…

It all started at ninth street with some friends of mine John and I started recruiting some people to come play football with us. I honestly didn’t know I had a pretty decent arm. I originally was going to start practicing to play wide receiver instead of quarterback. At the time Odell Beckham Jr. ( wide receiver for the New York Giants ) was extremely explosive and dynamic on offense. Seeing him blow up on offense made me want to try out for wide receiver. But somehow John convinced me to play quarterback.…

James Stephens and Emily Dickinson both talk about the wind but interpret it in different ways. Many people have argued that, “Should we ban high school football?” One of the main reason’s why we should outlaw the sport is due to head injuries, or injuries in general. Now granted, we cannot protect kids 24/7. Injuries in sports are just common things that occur. We can only do our best to prevent children from hurting themselves.…

As a four sport athlete (football, hockey, baseball, and track), I have endured my ups and downs with sports teams, but nothing compares to the adversity, leadership, and courage I had to muster up in the 2015 football season. The 2015 season looked bright for the hilltoppers, coming off three successful seasons, where I started and helped our football team win many games. I was a co-captain my Junior year and all-conference, so I was really looking forward to taking the reigns and becoming the true leader of our football team. However, the season was a disaster on paper at best. We went 0-9 and competed at a high level in 3 of those games. The day of our fourth football game, only 30 minutes prior to getting on the bus, my stomach started…

Ever since Freshman year, weightlifting has been a massive part of my life. I originally began it as a way to become stronger, and faster, to make football more enjoyable, but it quickly evolved beyond that. I currently spend about three to four hours a day, four days a week weightlifting, building my body stronger and faster, without such a tangible reason any longer, other than what I figured out from my dead lift one rep max failure in fourth quarter of my junior year.…

It was a Friday night in mid August 1991. I was a noseguard and middle linebacker on defense, depending on the play. I also played right guard on the offensive line. This is the story of a night that could of well ended any hope of being an athlete, on any level, from this point on. I will be telling the story from the defensive side of the ball, due to that is where I was playing when I had five vertebrae, slightly, separated.…
