Compare and Contrast a Life Raft, an Island, and Earth

Survival is a key part of life in which humans have been attending to throughout our entire existence. As time progresses, technology and knowledge not only increases but also improves. Eventually, we develop to the point where our educational system has an important and crucial question where the students are asked to compare and contrast a life raft with emergency supplies in it, a moderately sized island, and Earth itself. The three subjects have a number of similarities and differences; however, some are obviously more important than others. There are quite a few similarities between a life raft, an island, and Earth, all of which are just as obvious as the differences. Each of the three can carry things in them. The Earth and an island hold many different things on their land, including us humans. A life raft can, and is meant to, hold things such as emergency supplies or people in it. More obviously, each of the three is in a solid state of matter. Also, each of them has its own gravitational pull or influence. Earth has its own gravitational pull; so naturally, things that are located on Earth are influenced and affected by gravity. Lastly, each of them (can) support life. Earth, itself, is supporting life for a huge number of organisms and beings at this very moment. An island supports not only a number of plants, but also some animals and other organisms as well. A life raft, or life boat, is meant to help people safely distance themselves from a larger ship or boat disaster. Because a life raft has emergency supplies, it will support human life until they run out. With similarities, there are also differences within the life raft, island, and Earth. While Earth and the island is an ecosystem supporting a vast and diverse number of species and organisms, a life raft is merely just a lifeless boat. The island and Earth are also part of each other, while the life

During 13th century, the Mongols ruled both China, and Russia. The Mongols had similar and different political and economic effects on these regions. For example, the Khans chose a Russian ruler to take the position as Grand Prince and gave them the authority over other rulers. In contrast, the Mongols gave native Chinese no power within their government, but in fact they brought in Arabs, Europeans, and Persians to help them rule. In addition, during the Yuan Dynasty circa 1279, Kublai Khan insinuated himself into Chinese society by establishing an economic and political system that was familiar to the Chinese such as Confucianism. While in Russia entirely new governmental and economic systems were put into place and Russia became a feudal state. The Mongols also had similar effects, for example, in both regions the Mongols made a positive impact on their economies. They secured important trade routes within the region and contributed their effective trade techniques. Safer Russian trade routes and the Silk Road brought prosperity to these regions.…

Earth itself has had its up and downs, but throughout all this time, life has survived. Tragedies have happened here and there, almost completely wiping out all lifeforms, yet here we still are. I believe that all life forms are related in some way and that we all started out as singular cell organisms. After years of evolution, these single cells evolved into something greater, all life forms that we know today. It is because of this common ancestor that has caused most organisms today to be related, some closer than others. Typically, the original organisms upon this planet split into different…

As far as science knows the planet earth is unique in the entire universe. Certainly this is true in our own solar system. Earth is far better suited for life than any other planet, yet even here most of the environments are too hot, too cold, too far underground or too far above ground to support much life. In the many thousands of miles of changing environments from the center of the earth to the edge of its atmosphere, there are only a few meters of habitable environment for most life forms, and therefore, almost all creatures are forced to live there. Although in our solar system only the earth was made to be inhabited , even on the earth only a thin slice is ideally suited for most life-forms…
