Traditional College Versus Online College
In this paper we will cover the pros and cons of traditional colleges vs. online
colleges, beginning with the convenience factor, examining the financial aspects and the
need for books and supplies.
To begin with, let us discuss the travel requirements. With a traditional college you
must travel to and from classes and campus; which can be more of a con than a pro.
Whereas with an online college there is no commute, which can save time and money on
travel expenses.
The pros of convenience of a traditional college versus an online college. First, there
is the fact that you have your instructor or professor right there in front of you when in
class, which can be a big plus when asking questions. With online college you do not
have this ability. You must converse with your instructor via email, which can be
frustrating if waiting on an answer to be able to finish your assignment.
Secondly in a traditional college setting you have the feedback from fellow students
that can take place in real time. On the other hand in an online college setting you do not
have this luxury. You must rely on your posts to make your point. This can be frustrating
to some people as it does not allow for spontaneous interaction.
Third with a traditional college you must travel to and from classes and campus;
