In the book Freak, The Mighty written by Rodman Philbrick is a great story based on two inspiring boys named Kevin and Max. The movie is titled The Mighty and shows their adventures they went through. The film has many many differences such as Max reads King Arthur. Kevin was never Max’s tutor, and lastly, the retrieval of Loretta's purse was different.…

Freak the Mighty the book and movie also have a lot of diversities. Freak had a seizure in the book and he never did in the movie. In the movie freak died at home and the book he died at the hospital. In the movie max gets the little mechanical bird out of the tree in the book he never did.…
Freak the Mighty and The Mighty. The Mighty is the movie while the other is the book. Both the film and the book are about two boys who bond and have a unique friendship. There are many scenes from the movie that differ from the book. Those stages include Tony D.(Blade) who throws a basketball at Kevin, a restaurant scene that was not included in the book.…
In the book it states “ I just sort of reach down without think and pick up Freak and set him on my shoulders.” ( Philbrick 32 ). During this part of the book this part is included because it is a really important to the plot of the book. It is really important to the plot of the book because it is we're Freak the Mighty had started. It was the first time that Freak was riding on Max's shoulders. In the film this is also included because it is important to the plot of the book but also because this leads to an action based scene of the film were they are chased by Tony D. and his gang. The director kept this the same because without this part of the plot then the whole story would of changed. Freak would not be riding on his shoulders the whole book, they would of been caught by blade and his gang because Freak wouldn't of been able to see where all of them were coming from. Overall, although there are similarities and differences they are included for a reason. The major similarity is included because it is a very important part of the plot and a lot of the story would have been different if it were not…

While these similarities show what these pieces have incommon Freak the Mighty and The Mighty still have differences that make them distinctive. Although the characters have the same names, I have got to say there appearance was definitely incorrect. In the book Max was said to be 7 feet tall, while Kevin was said to be 2 feet tall. In the movie Max was about 6 feet and Kevin was the height of an average 6th grader at Eldorado K-8 ( about 4”6’). Kevin was supposed to have blond hair and blue eyes ( the movie gave him brown eyes and brown hair) while Maxes appearance was not clear in the book. Additionally, in the book, Kevin and Max seemingly lived in suburbia while the movie gave the impression they lived in much more of a city. For example, the old testaments seemed much bigger and better-looking than described in the book ( broken toys and ragged and dirty children who seemed a little broken themselves). The minor problem in plot detail is a third difference. In the movie, Kevin is apparently Max’s LD…
The movie started in a flashback to the fake trial. The boys were all playing a game after Gene found his room. Finny came up with all the rules in both the book and the movie. Leper came up with the name of Blitzball in the movie, but in the book Finny did. After Finny’s accident when Gene was in visiting him, the doc came in and cut the visit short in the book and the movie. The doctor also sends Finny home in both meaning the Summer Session is almost over anyways.…

It might seem as if “Everything Will Be Okay” and Freak The Mighty are very different kinds of stories. One is a short true story and the other is a fictional novel. But if you look a little closer you will see that both stories share a similar theme. In both pieces of text the author teaches us that you can make your own choices and not let others choose for you.…
Bravery is not inherent, it is rather acquired from the circumstances or situation faced in the life. People face lot of problems in their lives and to cope with those situations and move in with one's life is the sheer example of being brave. The same has been depicted by both the authors in their respective books. First by Kaye Gibbons in her very famous book "Ellen Foster" where in the protagonist is shown as homeless girl with no one to take care of, yet she finds a way to live her life and find herself a house worth living. Second, by Mark twain in his book "Adventures of Huckleberry" where in again the protagonist is full of determination and he is brave not only to get himself out of the miserable situations but he also helped his friend Jim by rescuing him.…

Researching the Bible in order to help someone with their problems has been around for centuries. Biblical counseling is a practical and effective way to teach through the understanding of Scripture; that thoughts, attitudes, motives, and words flow from a sinful nature of a selfish heart. In counseling, whether Biblical or secular, the main objective should be to help the counselee with the issues they are dealing with. Focusing on keeping the truth in the forefront of the counselee’s mind and always helping them through the hard times is a very important rule of thumb when counseling. When a counselee has an understanding of Biblical Scripture, the best way to efficiently resolve his or her emotional or social issues is through the use of effective biblical counseling, the foundational method of life. As Lawrence Crabb states in Effective Biblical Counseling, the goal of being an effective Christian counselor is to direct the counselee not in the direction of happiness, but in the path of becoming more like Christ. Crabb (1977) stated, “I must firmly and consciously by an act of my will reject the goal of becoming happy and adopt the goal of becoming more like the Lord.” (Crabb, 20). Although biblical counseling is now a routine form of therapy, the model of Lawrence Crabb, a foundational scholar in the area, resembles the techniques and theories of other authors while still maintaining its varied perspective.…
Ben Franklin and Frederick Douglass are the most prominent figures in American history that fought for freedom and equal rights, democracy and racial equality. Frederick Douglass was one of the most important figures in anti-slavery and civil rights movement which took place in the 19th century. Ben Franklin was a scientist, politician, diplomat and author. His social and political activity coincided with consolidation and creation of the nation. For both Franklin and Douglass, escape from oppressive circumstances became a turning point in their careers giving rise to political and social activity. The themes of survival and escape are closely connected with family background and early life of both men. Benjamin Franklin was of a family that for generations had lived by the sweat of its brow. Like his ancestors for generations back , he was bred to a trade through a long apprenticeship . That he became a journalist was not altogether accident His Uncle Benjamin and his maternal grandfather had been versifiers, and his elder brother had become printer of the fourth news set up in New England.…
