Gothic Literature and Magical Realism are similar because both Gothic Lit and Magical Realism refer to the supernatural, such as ghosts and time travel. In Edgar Allan Poe’s “Fall of the House of Usher” the ghost of Madeline comes to haunt Rodrick and this happens because Rodrick buries Madeline alive.
