young girl moves towards the station, so their going in two totally different directions. In the beginning of the video, there are buzzards around the elephants which causes danger for the elephants, but at the end of the video the harmful birds are gone.
This picture can help a person conclude that jig has a difficult time making the decision about what to do with the baby while the man was around, but later on she realizes what she wants so the man’s pressure on jig’s mind is gone. The last thing the director leaves his viewers with is a moment when jig is walking on the train tracks by herself. Symbolizing that jig finally knows what she wants and this doesn’t include the man’s choice. Then during the video she admits outloud to the man “I can’t do this, I’m not going to,” meaning that she can’t just let the baby go because that baby means something to her
personally. Lastly the man always intended to leave the girl behind because there are hints throughout the entire video that suggest just that. “I’m going home to chicago.” this statement is made by the man when he is talking to the waitress. The quote directly shows that the girl will not be coming with him on the train ride. Also, “...having a beautiful lady to come wave you off…” is another direct hint made by the waitress that Jig will be staying behind when the man leaves to go back home. Then later on in the video the man says to jig “...I’ll come back for you one day…” which is yet another direct example of the man’s intentions of leaving the young girl behind.
