He starts off as a great warrior, high in both status and reputation. But he has a deep desire inside his heart. When he is tempted by the prophecies, he is tested for his own inner strength and ability to fight the dark side of himself. Banquo and Macduff have both shown that they are strong and do not yield to temptation, providing a contrast to the weak-willed Macbeth, whose dark side is revealed by the three witches throughout the play. It is this flaw, his over-vaulting ambition, that made him take his first step towards his downfall “ murdering King Duncan. His change of character from the mighty and loyal warrior to the treacherous and savage King, who ultimately, dies, can be revealed through his interactions with the three witches,…

Once the exposition is established by the witches’ famous dialogue, “Fair is foul, and foul is fair” (I. i. 10), the reversal moral order is introduced as the theme of the play. This incident precedes the introduction of the diverse belief of both Macbeth and Banquo concerning the witches. Although Macbeth questions the witches’ prophecies in the beginning, he still maintains a flicker of hope that the prophecies are true. Macbeth’s belief in the witches’ predictions reveals to the audience that Macbeth is a credulous character. It only takes favourable prophecies for him to become convinced. During the first encounter between the witches, Macbeth and Banquo, Macbeth displays his anticipation to understand completely the words of the women,…

For Macbeth, he chooses to listen to two scheming women; the witches and his wife. To start, the three witches are the ones to spur on his devious ways. They exclaim, “All hail, Macbeth, that shalt be King here after!” (1.3.54) This prophesy didn’t necessarily mean that it was true, and would happen without Macbeth’s help. Macbeth had a choice to either let this event happen naturally, or take it on himself to make it definite. He took the second option, took matters into his own hands, and murdered an innocent and just King. In addition, Macbeth listened to his selfish and manipulating wife that he loved so dearly. Lady Macbeth dared her husband to kill when saying, “When you durst do it, then you were a man; and to be more than what you were, you would be so much more the man.”…
Once Macbeth had learned about the prophecies coming true he had sent a letter to his wife Lady Macbeth, reading this Lady Macbeth had her own plans of becoming the queen, she had encouraged Macbeth to commit evil deeds such as killing King Duncan, the current king of Scotland who had come to visit Macbeth in his castle. She had used tactics such as questioning his courage as a man, you can see this when she states “What beast was't then That made you break this enterprise to me? When you durst do it, then you were a man (I, IV, 47)”. Lady Macbeth In this quote is basically saying Macbeth is chickening out. This is another important reason because Macbeth had to make a very important decision which is one of the common traits of a tragic hero. Additionally, if it wasn’t for Lady Macbeth telling him to assassinate King Duncan his ambition to be king wouldn’t be as bad, you can tell this because he greatly regretted killing the king, his guilt is shown when he says “One cried, “God bless us!” and “Amen” the other, As they had seen me with these hangman’s hand. List’ning their fear I could not say “Amen,” When they did say “God bless us! (II, ii, 29-32)”. All in all, the influence of Lady Macbeth was another factor to Macbeth being a tragic…

In conclusion Lady Macbeth is mentally unstable. She longs for power and to become queen. But in the end she cannot handle pressure of murder and guilt on her shoulders. This is why she killed herself. The irony of it is if she didn’t guilt Macbeth into killing Duncan for not taking his chance and being a coward, she wouldn’t have felt guilty about anything at all. Because Duncan would still be alive and none of this would have ever happened. And maybe Lady Macbeth would end up sane in the end if it wasn’t for what she had…

Once Lady Macbeth hears of the witches’ prophecy, Duncan’s life is doomed.”( Shakespeare A 1, 1–4) Her plan was well thought out and she could not wait. He patience overpowered her excitement though as she waited for him to fall fast asleep. Soon after he was asleep she had drugged the guards and Shoved Macbeth in towards the kings resting area. Throughout Shakespeare’s play Macbeth, the main character Macbeth seems to make many unjustified and irrational decisions. These decisions may make him seem like an evil and unfair character, but if you read the story deeply and thoroughly, it is almost always someone else’s decision to do something bad, but Macbeth always comes off looking like the bad guy. Mainly the people that influenced him the most would be the three witches and Lady Macbeth. Although, I think that what influences him the most to do these terrible things, would have to be his ego.…
