Sir Gawain and The Green Knight is a tale of adventure and a story of journey and games, but it is also a morality tale. Sir Gawain is an honorable character who is concerned about the protection and elevation of his honor as a knight. However, because he is ashamed about having acquired the attention of Bertilak’s wife, he neglects to tell his host. This exclusion of the truth violates the rules of the game that Gawain and the Green Knight had agreed on, which stigmatizes Sir Gawain’s character slightly.
